Sharing my favourite reads from the week.

Hello friends! Happy Friday! My goodness, it’s been far too long since I’ve sat down to put together a Weekend Reading post. In fact, the last time I shared a Weekend Reading post, this view out our dining room window was looking a whole lot more white than it is today! I’ve been saving up a ton of great posts that I can’t wait to share with you today! But first, let me tell you how excited I am about the weekend ahead! May Long Weekend is always the unofficial kickoff to Summer around here – it’s when we typically start digging into our yard work, plant all the things, and get our outdoor projects rolling for the season. It’s when we built our raised garden boxes and then a few years later, our DIY enclosed garden. It’s when I usually plant most of our veggies and fill every pot and basket I can get my hands on with flowers. It’s when I fill our front porch with all things Summer. Basically, it’s our shift from living indoors to out and, after spending the last 6 months hibernating through Winter, I’m sure you can imagine just how exciting this is for all of us here in Northern Alberta!
And, as if all of that excitement wasn’t enough, I’ve got a night away with some girlfriends to look forward to too! Some teacher friends and I will be heading off to the city together for two days of fun and adventure. We’ll be shopping, eating and sipping yummy drinks to our heart’s content and even taking in a show between it all too. I’ll try to keep you all posted through my Insta stories, although we all know how quickly I forget to stop and share over there. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I’m looking forward to it all! Wishing you the best weekend ahead too my friends!

Some great advice from one of my favourite designers.

Do you keep a dresser in your bedroom?
How to beautify a boring exterior.
And speaking of beautiful exteriors, I’ve always loved the look of shake style siding.
Another great read on design mistakes as told from a few famous designers.

I’ve always loved baklava. Can’t wait to give this easy baklava recipe a try!
What to cook when you are tired.
Here’s what’s on my nightstand this week (SO good!).
