SHARING MY FAVOURITE READS FROM THE WEEK

Happy Friday friends! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week!
It’s been another busy one around here – working on all the projects and thankfully, making all sorts of progress. With the deck done outside, Brady was finally able to move onto building the gazebo over our new hot tub area. This has been Brady’s baby so to speak – he dreamed this design up all on his own, planning out each and every little detail, including his own build plans. I think we’re both envisioning this as a bit of a practice run for the roof structure we’ll be adding over the deck next Spring and so far I’m absolutely LOVING all of the rustic details he’s working in. Even through the snow & cold weather, he’s absolutely bound and determined to get this project finished before our new hot tub gets delivered at the end of the month. I cannot wait to see how this all comes together!
You can see it there, nestled into this little corner of the yard and, though I realize it’s a bit of a walk from our back door, it’s going to feel like it’s own little oasis when we’re done with it. We’re picturing bushes and rocks surrounding it on all sides, with a little pathway wandering through from our patio.

While Brady’s been hard at work outside on that gazebo, Carson and I have been building away down in the basement, assembling all of our new cabinets and shelves. We’re pretty much at a stand still for now, until Brady can finish up the counters and filler pieces on the wet bar, then we’ll be ready to move all of our furniture in – we’re aiming to start using this space in early December, though it’ll be a few more weeks before we get the powder room installed.
Finally, and most importantly, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas around the Mercer house! As I mentioned in this post last weekend, we’re slowly unpacking all of the Christmas bins and scattering all of our holiday decor all around the house. I’m hoping to start sharing some holiday tours soon, but in the mean time, here’s a little sneak peek at our progress so far…

ON THE BLOG THIS WEEK
Last weekend, I shared a little peek at “the beginnings of Christmas” around here.

On Monday, I shared a “Christmas decor capsule,” including all of the essential pieces you should include in your holiday decor.

Tuesday, was a collection of some of my favourite realistic, pre-lit, artificial tree options.

And finally, yesterday I shared the best Christmas pillows and throw blankets to curl up with this holiday season.
And now, here’s what I’ll be catching up with this weekend…

Looks like we’re right on trend with our slow Christmas this year.
Speaking of Christmas, if you’re looking for some inspiration for your tree this year, Inspired by Charm is one of the best. He’s sharing 16 of his incredible trees here and I know you’ll be feeling just as inspired as I did by them all.

And just one more inspiring Christmas tree for good measure.

Now I know many of you have Thanksgiving on the brain at the moment (I’m talking to you my American friends), so I thought I’d share this amazing Thanksgiving menu from one of my favourite food bloggers.

She’s also sharing this spiced cranberry punch, which sounds SO yummy!
I’m head-over-heels in love with every inch of this beautiful kitchen and dining room reveal.

Thinking this pear tart may be my Sunday baking project this week.
And Carson and I are also planning to try this homemade hot chocolate. We dug out the Santa mugs this week and Carson’s been begging for some hot chocolate to enjoy in them ever since.
Oh, this beautiful London flat is what dreams are made of.
Wishing you the most lovely weekend my friends!
