A quick little update and my favourite reads from the week.

Did you spy that black cabinet next to the fireplace? I finally got around to painting out the built-ins in the living room this week and oh my goodness, it turned out even better than I’d imagined! I love the way the texture of that wood grain still shows through the black paint. It definitely has a modern edge to it. And I have to say, the more I see it, the more I really love the way that rich black plays off of the honey oak around our main floor – it’s such a perfect mix of traditional and modern, which helps the honey oak to feel less dated and much more intentional in our design. I cannot wait to share it with you!
Hoping we can get it all put back together and styled this weekend and then I’m thinking I might share the first look at our new black built-ins in next week’s Newsletter, so make sure you’re signed up so you don’t miss out! For now, here’s a look back at what it used to look like…
