The best festive Christmas pillows & throw blankets to cozy up with this holiday season.

One of the easiest ways to change up your decor with each change in season is by switching out your throw pillows and blankets. In the warmer months, light colours and fabrics bring an airy feel to a space, but as the temperatures drop, heavier textures like faux furs and chunky knits really help to make your space feel warm + cozy.

Not only are throw pillows and blankets a great way to bring some different textures into a room, but they’re also a relatively simple and inexpensive way to inject a bit of colour and pattern. As you know, I tend to stick with neutral colours around here, but I love to work in as many different textures as I can to still keep things interesting – I think it helps to give that “collected” feel I love so much.
Through the holidays though, all bets are off. I LOVE working in a few festive pops of colour throughout our home and throw pillows and blankets are one of my favourite ways to do it. I can never resist a beautiful tartan print to spread that cozy, Christmas feel throughout our home.
Layering cozy textures and festive prints throughout a space instantly makes it feel warmer and more inviting for the holidays. But, I think my favourite part about decorating with pillows and throw blankets is how simple they are to move around the house, easily transforming the feel of whatever room you decided to put them in. Cozy pillows and throws aren’t just for your living room sofa – I always love adding them to our porch and bedrooms as well to spread that cozy feeling all through our home, especially through the holiday season.
Scattering cozy blankets and pillows all around the house really helps to make each space feel cozy through these colder months and I especially love how easy they make adding those pops of festive colour all throughout our home.
And the best part, when you find yourself looking to change things up as a new season rolls in or maybe you just want to create a different feel or try some new colours in a space, those pillows and throws are such an easy and relatively inexpensive switch with a really big impact.
