These beautiful pre-lit artificial Christmas Trees are SO realistic, you’d never know they weren’t the real deal!

I’m sure for so many of us, decorating a beautiful Christmas tree is one of the most treasured traditions through the holiday season. In fact, we love it so much, we actually decorate two separate trees around our house. The tree in our front living room tends to look a little more polished and put together I’d say (this is the one I often share each year on the blog – you can catch last year’s nostalgic vintage themed tree here). Though we all decorate it together, I often find myself adjusting things for a few days after to get this one just right.
The tree in our back family room though, that one is all about looking perfectly imperfect. Carson always takes the lead with this one, directing Brady and I to help him find the perfect spot for each and every special ornament. Where our living room tree features a more cohesive collection of ornaments with a well thought out theme, our family room tree is all of our most treasured ornaments – each and every one that Carson has made through the years, all the ornaments he’s collected over his 8 Christmases (we gift him one every Christmas Eve), the ones Brady and I used when we first moved in together and even some that we used as children ourselves growing up. It’s definitely a very special tree each year and always my favourite to decorate (you can see more of last year’s family room tree here).
Whether it’s filled to the brim with decorations or simply just lit up with lights, the Christmas tree has become a staple of our holiday season. Of course, many people choose to decorate with a real tree (something I’ve always wanted to try myself), but for those of us that like to decorate early or maybe just don’t want to deal with the upkeep of the real deal, an artificial tree might be a better fit. I’ve always had an artificial tree and oh my goodness, have they come a long, long way since I was a girl. The first tree that Brady and I purchased for our first Christmas was a pre-lit and didn’t require any shaping and I remember being blown away even then by the jump in quality from the old tree we had growing up. That was 13 years ago now, and after replacing all of the lights and adding a switch so we could turn it on more easily, we finally decided to replace that old tree last year. We found a great option from Costco (similar here), which has all sorts of fancy features like the ability to change the light colours and light cords that automatically plug into one another through the “trunk”. Turns out artificial trees have come even farther than we’d ever thought in those 12 years since buying that first tree.
Our 13 year old tree moved to the back family room to make room in the living room for our new one and that’s how for the first time in my life, I found myself with two trees to decorate (and now I hope we never go back to just one)!
Though both of our trees were purchased at a similar price-point, the difference in quality and technology between the two was huge! In fact, it was so huge that this year, I couldn’t resist upgrading our family room tree now as well. I did a ton of research, window shopping the most realistic trees and reading all of the reviews (you can see which one we ended up with in the round-up below).

All that research and window shopping really got me thinking about what an investment an artificial Christmas tree can be – not just cost-wise, but time-wise as well. People tend to keep those artificial trees for many years, celebrating many Christmases with them and making so many happy memories gathered around them with their families. And so, I thought I’d share a bit of my research with you today – a collection of my favourite artificial trees out there with all of the features I wanted most (realistic, easy set-up, and pre-lit). If you find yourself on the hunt for the perfect artificial tree, hopefully you’ll find this little round-up helpful through your own search!
