Catching you up with all things currently.
April was a busy one my friends and May is already shaping up to be very much the same. Our month was filled with visits with friends and family, birthday celebrations, tons of reno progress and of course, all of the usual busyness of life. While it was a very full and busy month, we had so much to celebrate!
Here are a few of the highlights if you missed them:
- celebrating three special birthdays – Carson’s 12th, my Mother-in-law’s, who passed away in 2019, but would have been 69, and my Grandma turned 95!
- ordering our hardwood floors
- picking out carpet for the Pyramid Room
- sharing all of the smart upgrades we’ve done around here
- getting the drywall hung throughout C’s room, our bedroom, our closet and the ensuite bath
- finally planning out the design for our primary bedroom
- training for my first half marathon of 2024 (my 7th overall) – will be running it in the Vancouver marathon this weekend!
Read on for a quick little update of where we are currently…
CURRENTLY
Reading: I’m just a few chapters into this one, but it’s got amazing reviews!
Writing: Putting together an update of our reno progress on the second floor. You can catch our last renovation update here if you missed it.
Needing: To choose a rug for our bedroom – which do love more? Neutral or colourful?
Loving: We had no idea how much we’d love all of the smart upgrades we’ve made around here!
To Do: Our second floor renos have been at the top of our to-do list lately. With all of the drywall hung, we’re hiring out the mudding and taping so that we can get the ensuite bathroom prepped for tile (see our design plans for our ensuite here).
Wearing: These slip on Market Mules. They’re just as comfy to wear as they are beautiful!
On my wish list: I think this arched floor mirror would look so perfect in our new bedroom.
Planning: Now that I’m done putting together the design plans for our bedroom, I’ve started planning out our closet. Get a feel of the vibe on this Pinterest board.
Working for me right now: Training for my half marathon. While my pace has been slower than I’d hoped, having a race to train for is always so motivating for me.
What’s not: The decision fatigue is real. With all of the decisions we’ve had to make around here lately, even the smallest ones have felt so daunting and impossible to commit to. Thankful for the help I always find on Instagram – when I share the options I’m considering, you guys always come through with great advice for me!
Anticipating: My half marathon this weekend in Vancouver! I’ll be traveling/running with a friend and we’re already dreaming and scheming up the best things to do and places to eat while we’re away. Will share as much as I can throughout our trip over on Instagram.
I’d LOVE to hear where are you currently! Let me know what’s new and exciting in the comments below.
Wishing you SUCH a lovely day my friends!
