SHARING A QUICK UPDATE ON ALL THINGS CURRENTLY…
I’ve been meaning to share a quick little catch up post for ages now. I know things have been pretty quiet here on the blog lately – honestly, life has just felt a little crazy around here behind the scenes. Brady and I have been working on a few projects around the house – finalizing plans for our garage build, putting our house back together after our game of musical rooms (if you missed it, you can read more about all of our room shifts around the house here), and of course a whole lot of Spring cleaning inside & out. But, between school (which is online again now from home), work, and soaking up as much of this warm Spring weather as we can, well let’s just say, I’ve had a hard time carving out the time to sit down and write.
If you’ve caught any of my Weekend Reading posts or followed along on Instagram, you’ll at least have caught a few updates along the way. Just in case you missed it though, here were a few highlights from April…
Behind the scenes, I’ve been working away at finishing up a few projects around the house – mainly trying to get our upstairs all put back together after Carson’s bedroom switch-a-roo. His old bedroom got a not so quick paint job (2 coats on the ceiling and 3 on the walls to cover that dark green) with my fave Edgecomb Gray. Though it’s not finished yet, we’ve got the bunk beds all set up again at least, which means Carson’s already abandoned his brand new room for the top bunk in his old room again. I’ve got a few ideas up my sleeve for this bunk room (hoping to share more next week), but in the mean time I’m happy to have the bunk beds moved out of our old office at least.
Of course, getting things done around the house just got a little harder with Carson learning from home for the next couple of weeks. Online school isn’t easy on any of us, but I can’t help but feel so incredibly grateful for his amazing teachers, who have all been so understanding and patient as they guide all of these kiddos through their school days online. Here’s hoping it’s just a couple of weeks to get through and then everyone will be back in the classroom to finish out the rest of the school year.
With so much going on for us this month, I’m not sure we’ll get through too many projects around the house, but I’m really hoping we will at least be ready to start work on that garage through June! #wishusluck
In the mean time, here’s a quick little update of where we are currently…
Reading: I just finished this book last night – I found the story so enlightening and would highly recommend. And, after a few recommendations from friends, here’s what’s on my nightstand now.
Writing: A quick little update about our progress in Carson’s modern cottage bedroom – hoping to share it later this week, but in the mean time, you can check out our last update here.
Watching: We’re still working our way through Home Improvement with Carson. It’s been so fun to rewatch this old favourite from our childhood and give C a glimpse into what life used to look like way back then.
Needing: A new light for our bedroom. Current favourite contenders are this flushmount and this small chandelier. Which one is your favourite?
Creating: A mood board for our new bunk room. I can’t wait to share it with you next week!
Planning: A whole lot of reno projects for the Summer ahead!
Loving: Running outdoors again! It’s one of my favourite ways to get some fresh air and exercise out in the sunshine.
Wearing: Trying a new brand of running shoes and so far, I’m in LOVE!
On my wish list: Don’t you think this rug would look so amazing in our bedroom?!
Working for me right now: Sunshine, fresh air and taking advantage of any chance to be outside!
What’s not: Trying to work from home while everyone else in this house is trying to work from home.
Anticipating: Summer! Mountain biking, garage building, gardening, curling up on the porch with a book. It’s going to be amazing!
I’d LOVE to hear where are you currently! Let me know what’s new and exciting in the comments below.
Wishing you SUCH a lovely day my friends!
