Well hello there July, it’s so nice to see you again! We sure missed the freedom of your long, sunny days around here.
I hope you’ve had a wonderful start to your Summer! We’ve jumped right into all things Summer around here already. Not only have we been working through all sorts of outdoor projects around the house, but we’ve already enjoyed a whole week away in BC with friends. It was SO wonderful to have the opportunity to join some of our childhood friends and their families for a week of boating, pool time, delicious food and the very best company! It was SUCH a perfect way to kick off our Summer!
Now that we’re back home again, we’ve got big plans to finish up a few outdoor projects around the house – mainly the underground sprinkler system and a few more painting projects (more on those next week!). We’ve been toying around with a few other ideas for this Summer as well – maybe working on rebuilding at least a portion of our old, dilapidated deck, or perhaps having the tennis court refinished (this one’s at the top of Brady’s list), but we haven’t committed to much else yet. Our Summers are so short around here, it’s more important than ever to find a good balance between tackling house projects, while still leaving lots of room to enjoy all of the fun & adventure that these Summer days have to offer.
Read on for a quick little update of where we are currently…
CURRENTLY
Reading: I just finished up this book while we were in BC, though I’m not sure how I feel about it yet. Picked up this beach read on our trip to read next – so far it’s been a perfect Summer read.
Writing: I’ve been working on a list of projects we’d like to tackle through the Summer ahead. Watch for it on the blog next week.
Creating: Still working on some plans for our study. I’d really love to get this room finished up!
Loving: We purchased a set of paddle boards for our family three years ago and it’s become one of our favourite things to do together on a warm Summer day. We did a ton of research before buying and we’re still absolutely thrilled with the ones we went with (here’s a link to all of our boards – Brady, Kristi, Carson).
To Do: I’ve got a few painting projects I’d love to tackle through the month ahead. I refuse to waste a sunny day painting inside though, so they may just have to wait a while yet.
Wearing: This comfy dress has been on heavy rotation lately (and it’s on sale right now!).
On my wish list: A friend of ours had these fun sandals at the lake last week and I can’t stop thinking about them!
Planning: The study, our primary bedroom and bathroom and few smaller projects around the house.
Working for me right now: This brilliant curtain hack! I’ll never struggle with extension curtain rods again – this stuff has been such a game changer!
What’s not: Our electric paddle board pump seems to have stopped working. With three to blow up, it’s definitely worth replacing – here’s what we’re looking at.
Anticipating: All of the adventures that Summer is sure to bring our way!
