SHARING A QUICK UPDATE ON LIFE CURRENTLY.

Well friends, this post is about a week later than I’d originally planned. Better late than never I guess.
The truth is, things have been pretty crazy around here lately and I’ve had a hard time keeping up with it all these past few weeks. But I’ll tell you, there’s nothing like some forced downtime to stop you dead in your tracks. After managing to avoid this crazy virus for nearly two years (even while the boys both had it last Fall!), last week it was my turn to be taken down by Covid. Instead of running myself ragged trying to do all the things, I found myself stuck in bed with a fever, cough and complete and total exhaustion. I had to cancel all the things, and instead just let myself rest & heal for a few days.
Wanting to avoid catching it themselves, Brady & Carson took off to Jasper for 5 days of skiing together leaving me free to curl up on the sofa in front of the fire without having to worry about getting anyone else sick.
After four days of doing little more than moving from my bed to the couch and back again, I’m finally feeling a little more myself this morning (as I write this, it’s currently day 5 of my quarantine). I’m still pretty tired, my body is moving a little slower than normal & my brain still feels quite “foggy”, but I’m feeling like I can function for the first time in 5 days, so that’s a start I guess. I have a feeling coming back from this is going to be a slower process than I’d like and I have no doubt I won’t be able to just pick up where I’d left off for quite some time, but if I’m being totally honest – I don’t really want to. I think this was life’s way of telling me it to slow down and find some peace through all of the overwhelm. As my quarantine lifts and I start to feel more myself with each passing day, I plan to ease back into life at a slower pace and with a little more intention.

And now, here’s a quick little update of where we are currently…
CURRENTLY
Reading: I just finished this book and really enjoyed it – it was totally worth all the hype! Here’s what’s next on my list.
Writing: Late last year, I made a goal to journal a few days a week – I’ve found that writing things out has really brought so much clarity for me. I was given this lovely journal for Christmas and, though I don’t work on it every day, I’ve really enjoyed putting it to work while I sip my coffee a few mornings a week.
Needing: To figure out a plan for our old back family room. Since finishing our basement last Fall, our old family room has become a hodgepodge of piano, office and den and the disorganization and lack of definition in the space has been driving me mad. I can’t wait to figure out a new plan for this space and make it functional (and beautiful) for our family again.
Loving: I am still head-over-heels for our new entryway rug (you can see it in our holiday home tour here)!
Wearing: I have been wearing this cozy “shacket” everywhere lately.
On my wish list: I’ve been shopping for a new dining table for ages now and this one is quickly moving to the top of my wish list. I think it would look amazing with some white upholstered chairs at either end.
Planning: A loooooong list of projects we’d love to take on through the year ahead.
Working for me right now: I’ve been super motivated to get my workouts in thanks to our new Peloton machines and equipment! I am LOVING exploring all of the classes!
What’s not: Being sick. Hoping I’m feeling more like myself with each passing day.
Anticipating: We’ve had such amazing Spring-like weather these past few weeks, I can’t help but dream on the warm, sunny days that are on their way!
I’d LOVE to hear where are you currently! Let me know what’s new and exciting in the comments below.
Wishing you SUCH a lovely day my friends!
