SHARING A QUICK UPDATE ON ALL THINGS {CURRENTLY}…

It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through our Summer, isn’t it? And even harder to believe that school will be starting up again in just over a month, at least that’s the plan here in Alberta anyway. Honestly, I’m still not sure how I feel about it all – life with COVID has just been so hard to navigate these last few months. Luckily we’ve managed to make the most of our Summer together closer to home.

Between golf, mountain biking and a few socially distanced visits with friends, we’ve spent every possible minute we can outside enjoying the sunshine. Even with our vacation plans put on hold put on hold for the Summer, we’ve managed to squeeze in all sorts of fun adventures closer to home instead. I think it’s safe to say the highlight of our Summer has been putting our new paddle boards to work. Not only is it a great way to enjoy a few hours out on the water, but it’s helped us explore all sorts of beautiful areas around us.

July also brought yet another health complication for our sweet pup Charley. After a week of vomiting, loss of appetite, a drastic drop in energy, and a myriad of tests to get to the bottom of things, Charley ended up going in for an exploratory surgery to diagnose an issue with her intestine. This poor girl has dealt with more than her fair share in her short life so far, but I’m hopeful she’s on the mend and will be her happy, healthy self for a long while now.
In between Summer adventures, we’ve also been hard at work on a few projects here around the house. Brady’s been plugging away at the basement for weeks now and thankfully, the end of hanging drywall is finally in sight. We’ve also been working with a structural engineer to plan out a pretty major outdoor project as well – we’ve been wanting a covered deck space for ages now and couldn’t be more excited to finally see it come to life this Summer! I promise to share more details about it all here on the blog soon.
With so much in the works at the moment, our August is sure to be an exciting one! But for now, here’s a quick little update of where we are currently…
CURRENTLY.
Reading: After plowing through this riveting read in just two days, I’m moving onto this book next.

Writing: What I love most about my early mornings.
Watching: Still taking an unplanned, but much needed break from TV around here as I find myself reading my way through every spare moment. You can see what I’ve been reading (and loving) over on Goodreads.
Listening to: I’ve been starting my mornings listening to this podcast over coffee while I catch up on my email and blog work. I love the stories behind each episode.
Needing: Some new window coverings for our bedrooms – I’m thinking custom roman shades. If you have any suggestions of great places to order them, please send them my way!
Creating: Some design plans for our latest reno project.
Planning: I think we’ve come to the realization that our list of reno projects for the Summer may have been just a tad ambitious. We’ve narrowed down the list to include all of the things we need to get through before we can tackle the siding so that we’ll be ready to move onto that first thing next Spring. That still means we’ve got some pretty major projects to take on including a brand new covered deck out back that we’re hoping to get started on next week!
Loving: My mornings have been made infinitely better with this brilliant machine!
Wearing: I’ve been wearing these simple, understated sandals everywhere this Summer.
Coveting: I’ve been debating a new dining table for a while now. I really like our current table, but I find myself wishing for something a little warmer and more nostalgic feeling. This one is currently at the top of my list.
Working for me right now: Morning runs by the river.

What’s not: Finding the time to blog these last few months. I’ve got such a long list of things I’d like to share, but so much less quiet time to sit down and write.
Anticipating: Our trip to Fernie, BC for a bit of mountain biking, paddle boarding and time with some of our favourite people!
I’d LOVE to hear where are you currently? Do you have any fun adventures planned through the month ahead?
Wishing you SUCH a lovely day my friends!
