A quick update on all things {currently}…
Oh my goodness friends! It’s been far too long since I’ve updated y’all on our lives behind the blog.
Let me just tell you, life has been C-R-A-Z-Y. Like absolutely nuts.
Through the last couple of months we’ve had renovation upon renovation. And not just any renovation…
This my friends, is our biggest (and messiest) renovation project yet. I’m talking tearing out supporting walls (yes, more than one!), removing floors (we had a two story basement for a few days) and of course a zillion other things that are equally as mad.
I can’t wait to share all the details next week (FINALLY!), but for now, here’s a quick peek at how things look today…
It feels like our entire home is a construction zone at the moment – full of nothing but plywood and drywall dust from one end to the other, but we have managed to salvage a few spaces that aren’t totally and completely taken over with construction mess.
We’ve been parking ourselves right here each evening, escaping the renovation chaos and enjoying every Christmas movie ever made.
And I’ll tell ya, I’ve been making good use of this beautiful tub…
Surrounded by my favourite candles, it’s been the very best way to relax, unwind & pretend the rest of my house isn’t a total disaster.
Of course, it’s never long before I’m collapsing into our cozy bed…
Of course, on top of all the renovating, there’s still some real life to keep track of … hockey, teaching, blogging, piano lessons, Kindergarten (this list could go on forever really).
And on top of it all, I’ve decided to become a Gold Canyon rep – with their delicious scents and pretty glass jars, they’ve long been my very favourite candles and I just couldn’t resist sharing them with you all.
Be sure to shoot me a message if you have any questions at all about these amazing candles, I have no doubt you’ll love them as much as I do! And, just as an added bonus, any orders placed before November 17th under my launch party (find it here), will be entered to win the host perks earned by the entire party (and let me tell you, there are A LOT of them!).
With SO much on the go, we’ve certainly got a lot to look forward to!
And now, here’s a quick update about where I am {currently}…
Reading: The Little Book of Lykke.
Writing: All the details of our reno plans to share with y’all next week!
Watching: Christmas movies. Like every one ever made I’m sure.
Needing: To rid my home of chemicals.
Creating: A cozy master bedroom (can’t wait to share more!)…
Learning: How to cozy up our home for Winter.
Planning: Oh my gosh! My head is absolutely spinning with everything we’ve got in the works!
Loving: Our new bedding!
Wearing: My new winter boots because we’ve been living in a Winter wonderland for weeks now.
Coveting: This bedding, because one quilt just isn’t enough this time of year.
Working for me right now: Candles, blankets and all things cozy.
What’s not: My lack of patience to live through this messy rennovation.
Anticipating: Finishing said renovations.
I’d LOVE to hear where are you currently? What’s new and exciting?
Now, I’d love for you to check out these gorgeous Gold Canyon candles and let me know if you have any questions friends. Don’t forget that any orders placed through my launch party will be entered to win all of the host freebies and discounts earned through the entire party!
Wishing you SUCH a lovely week!

Oh my goodness!!! I cannot WAIT to see it all finished!! A two story basement ???? I have no doubt it will be incredible when it’s finished ❤️ You have an amazing eye for detail and it will all come together beautifully!
You’re the absolute best, thanks so much my friend! xo
Where did you find the beautiful Lamb’s ear spray’s! I love them and can never find pretty ones. Every detail of your home is so beautiful!
Thank you so, so much for your kind words Carol! Here’s a link to my favourite lambs ear sprays: http://rstyle.me/n/csm5yqbz687.
Thank you so much for taking time from your busy schedule to answer my question! I love following your blog and look forward to each one!
I’m so, so happy to help Carol! Thank you SO much for your kind words! It means the world to know that you enjoy following along!
Always so much going on at your house. Can be rather stressful living in construction zone. Will you ever be done?
We tend to keep things pretty peaceful, I know boring. We’re getting new bed in few days, already bought our new mattress, a really good one for our old bones to rest on.
We’ve had a king bed for many years but are downsizing to a queen platform, with metal head/footboards to keep the vintage style in our room. We have a 40’s waterfall chif-a-robe just can’t part with. We bought it in KY, still love the style and storage. One side was for a closet but Mr.Furry put shelves in that side to make better use of storage.
I had a Safavieh shag rug had gotten for our living room but then bought bigger rug same as first one so smaller goes in our room now under the bed. We took old king bed out earlier this week to give room good cleaning and get rug down before new bed comes. What a process that was and lots of hard work moving everything around. Moving a king mattress is not fun but funny to watch I would imagine.
We’re currently sleeping on old king mattress sitting on old king box springs til new bed comes. Took everything off walls til after bed comes, see what changes we might want to make for art.
Nothing exciting except for new bed and that will be great for our old bones, was long needed and coming.
Your room looks so pretty and very cozy, enjoy it. When it gets cold here in western CO I put about 4 quilts on our bed.
Here’s hoping you have good weekend
You are always so sweet JaneEllen, I love catching up with you! How exciting about the new bed, I’m sure you’re going to love it and how fun that you’ll be making some other changes to the space at the same time! It’s going to feel like a whole new room! Hoping we’ll be done with our own renovations soon – each one brings us one step closer! Thanks again!
I love your blog and have been following it for over a year now. I love the jar candles! What fragrance are you using? Do they smoke when you extinguish them? So tempting….
Thank you so much for your kind words, it makes me so happy to hear that you love following along with our adventures! These candles are my absolute favourites – my go-to fragrances are {Horchata}, {Honey Tobacco} and {Ginger & Nutmeg}. Also, I LOVE {Kringle & Spice} through the holidays! They do smoke when you blow them out, but if you use a wick dipper then you can avoid the smoke: https://kristimercer.mygc.com/candle-care. Please let me know if you have any other questions Barb, I have no doubt that you’d love the candles as much as I do!
