Well Hello December! I’m SO happy you’re here!
Frosty mornings, warm fires, hot chocolate and a fresh blanket of snow turning everything white – there’s just nothing as cozy as Winter rolling in!
And my favourite part of it all of course, the magic of the holiday season is upon us!!! I’m so excited to experience the excitement and wonder of it all through our son’s eyes again this year – I swear the magic of it all only grows as the years pass!
Last we chatted, I was just embarking on the craziness that is the One Room Challenge – you know, when we signed on to completely makeover one room in our home in just six weeks. Well, I’m happy to say that we made it through the other side and I couldn’t possibly be happier with how things came together.
We also finished up our journey to {sparking joy}, having decluttered most of our home and tidied it up once and for all. And now, maybe we’ll have some room for our Christmas gifts 😉
My very favourite project from last month would have to be this DIY Fireplace that we created for our Farmhouse Master Bedroom. Not only did I show y’all how we built it, but I also shared four simple steps to styling it.
And now, here’s a quick update of where I am currently …

Reading: I’m still working my way through The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton (thanks to so many late nights working on our new master bedroom!).
Writing: I’ve been writing and re-writing my calendar for the next month, trying to figure out a way to fit it all in!
Watching: Just finished up the entire 10 seasons of my all time fave “Friends” and now I’m catching up on all of my PVR’d Love it or List it Vancouver shows. Have you heard of it?
Listening to: Christmas music!!!!!
Needing: I may just have these pretty pillows sitting in my online shopping cart right now.
Creating: All things Christmas! Let the crafting begin!
Learning: I’m in the process of teaching myself how to knit. Again. I do this every, single winter. Luckily, it gets a little faster ever year.
Planning: Christmas lists, Christmas baking, a few ski trips – you know, ’tis the season!
Loving: My blanket cape. Seriously, I wear it EVERYWHERE!
Dreaming about: Christmas lights, cozy fires, yummy baking and ski trips to the mountains!
Wearing: Leggings, sweaters & boots … all my faves!
Coveting: This GORGEOUS flocked Christmas tree!
Working for me right now: Decluttering my house! Have I mentioned how much I like neat & tidy?!
What’s not: Finding the time to do it ALL! Why do we need so much sleep anyway?
Anticipating: The magic of the season!
I’d LOVE to hear where are you currently? What’s new and exciting?
Now please excuse me while I curl up in front of the fire with my morning coffee…
Wishing you SUCH a lovely week!

I’m absolutely loving following your home journey, both through your blog and on Instagram! Your home is beautiful- I love it!!! I just recently starting trying to blog more “seriously” and was wondering if I could borrow and modify your list of things you are up to currently. I love how it gives your readers a chance to get to know you better and is a nice monthly overview. Thank you for sharing your home and a glimpse of your life- you are great!
Thank you so, so much Brenlee! I’m so happy to hear that you love following along!!! Of course you can write up your own version of this!
