2021 Cozy Christmas Home Tour

Simple holiday greenery, twinkling lights, and lots of rich texture come together to create this cozy Christmas home tour for the holidays.

Here we go friends – Iโ€™m SO excited to be sharing my first holiday home tour of the season on the blog today! Even more, Iโ€™ve teamed up with an incredible group of bloggers to bring you all sorts of beautiful holiday decor inspiration, which you can find linked up at the bottom of this post. I always love taking part in the Very Merry Christmas Home Tour hosted by Marty at A Stroll Through Life – with 35 bloggers taking part this year, you can bet there’ll be a ton of Christmas decorating ideas to take in this year!

If you’re popping over from Hymn’s and Verses’ beautiful tour, welcome! Doreen has such a lovely home, I always find so much inspiration in the decor that she shares (you need to see the beautiful gallery wall she’s sharing in her Christmas tour!).

I cannot wait for you to check out all of the holiday decor inspiration linked up at the end of this post, but first, let me take you on a tour of our own home all cozied up for the holidays.

Our Holiday home tour is always one of my favourite posts to share each year. Filled with rich textures, twinkling lights and loads of holiday nostalgia, I donโ€™t think our home ever feels cozier than when itโ€™s all decked out for the holidays! So, grab yourself a warm cup of coffee and come on in…

Our entryway is always one of my favourite spots to decorate in our home. Iโ€™d always wanted a stair railing to drape with garland โ€“ I just think it brings that quintessential holiday charm.

Our entryway opens right into our living room, with our kitchen and dining area tucked in behind. I think having one big open space makes decorating for the holidays so much easier because each little piece of decor can visually carry through to all of the different spaces.

I think the key to cozy holiday decor (or cozy decor in general really) is creating lots of layers with various textures, patterns and even lighting. Though much of this space is still quite neutral (aside from those gorgeous holiday plaids), it still feels rich and cozy with all of the warm fabrics, lighting and greenery layered in.

This little corner has become my very favourite this year. I LOVE all of the cozy fabrics and the way those more traditional holiday colours pop against it all.

And of course, that sparkling tree with its pearl bead garland, mercury glass ornaments, and layers of tinsel, is pretty special too (you can read more about this yearโ€™s tree and how I decorated it here).

I always love the way the sun pours in through these windows each morning as it rises. It always makes for such a pretty view while I’m cooking breakfast.

And hereโ€™s the view from our living room…

A bit of greenery and a few pops of those traditional holiday colours help to tie our kitchen and dining spaces in with our living room, making it all feel like one big, cozy space. You can also get a peek at our new dining table here too – just in time for holiday gatherings.

The decor continues into the back of our house as well, down the hallway into our mudroom space…

And of course, upstairs into the bedrooms as well…

Our bedroom is always the first space I decorate with each change in season and Christmas is no different. Keeping the decor simple in here always makes is the easiest place for me to start. Plus, thereโ€™s just something about crawling into a cozy nest at the end of a long day. As the days grow colder, shorter and snowier, I can never wait to start warming up our bedroom space with all that cozy holiday decor.

And thatโ€™s it friends! I hope you enjoyed this yearโ€™s holiday home tour and found some inspiration to help make your home feel warm + cozy this Christmas season as well! Iโ€™ve tried to link up all of my holiday decor sources for you below, but if you find yourself wondering about anything else, donโ€™t hesitate to reach out in the comments at the end of this post. If youโ€™re looking for decor details about our home, you can find most of them here.

Now, pop on over to Decor to Adore‘s beautiful Christmas tour, you’ll find so many fun colours all around her holiday home!
