A quick little update of our life currently.
Happy 2025 my friends! How were your holidays? Our Christmas season was pretty busy with lots of visits and celebrations with family and friends, but our New Year’s Eve was much quieter – just the way we like it. ๐ Our holiday season really was the perfect balance between relaxation, adventure and lots of time with friends and family and, after such a wonderful break, I’m feeling ready to get back into the routines of everyday life again (including knowing what day of the week it is again).
I thought it was only fitting that my first post of the new year be a quick little check-in on life currently (if only to give us a glimpse down the road to look back on). We’ve made a ton of progress on our renovations through the past month and, while we’ve still got a couple more rooms to go, and a whole floor in home’s worth of hardwood to lay yet, it’s been so exciting to finally see some of these spaces we’ve worked so hard on come together! I’m planning to share a proper renovation update here on the blog soon, but in the mean time, here’s a few photos to tide you over.
And now, read on for a quick little update of where we are currently…
CURRENTLY
Reading:ย I’ve been meaning to read this one forever and so far, I’m absolutely loving it!
Writing: All the goals for the year ahead – for life, our home and my own growth. I’m not much for resolutions, or words of the year, but I do love an opportunity to reflect and grow.
Needing: A new pair of winter boots. My current ones are at least 10yrs old (likely more) and have seen better days. I thought these were too cute to pass up.
Creating: I’ve had all the plans for Carson’s new room rolling around my head for months – with our own bedroom finally nearing the finish line and the busyness of the holiday season behind us, I’m excited to finally pull together a design plan for Carson’s room.
Loving: This little journal is my favourite way to start and end each day with gratitude and reflection.
To Do: We’re slowly making our way through that long renovation to do list. With our bedroom and ensuite officially done, we’re currently working on our walk in closet. We’ve got all of the cabinets built and will be moving onto building it all in and customizing it next. It’s going to be SO good, I cannot wait to share it with you!
Wearing: I’ve been living in my fave leggings and this cozy sweater all through the holidays.
On my wish list: We love a good puzzle around here. After working through most of puzzle stash through the holidays, I think we’re ready for a new one. LOVE that this one pictures a fave destination of ours.
Planning: Our reno list for 2025. Stay tuned my friends, it’s going to be a good one!
Working for me right now:ย I’ve been using this planner for a few years now and it’s been my favourite one yet. There’s just nothing like putting pen to paper.
Whatโs not:ย We’ve got so many ideas for the year ahead, we’re really going to have to narrow down our priorities I think.
Anticipating:ย We’re heading to Hawaii in a few weeks and we’re all SO excited to enjoy some sunshine and explore a new destination!
