First Peek at our Finished Bedroom

Sharing a peek at our newly finished primary bedroom space, including our beautiful bed!

I can’t even begin to describe how excited I am to be sharing these photos of our newly finished primary bedroom today! This reveal has been SUCH a long time coming – nearly two and half years if you can believe it. From designing and rendering floor plans to tearing out walls and reconfiguring three separate rooms, this primary bedroom space has truly been a labour of love for us (not to mention a whole lot of work!). We’re still waiting on some back-ordered furniture pieces and we’ve got a whole closet to build out yet, but the renovation work in this primary bedroom space is officially done and I just couldn’t wait another minute to share it with you! I’ll wait for the last few pieces to arrive before I dive into all of the before and afters, but for now, I’m so happy to share these first peeks into our new primary bedroom, including our brand new bed!

Welcome to our new primary bedroom! As I said, we’re still waiting on several pieces of furniture and decor (nightstands, curtains, pillows and quilts), but I couldn’t wait another minute to move into this beautiful space. Luckily our bed and mattress arrived right on time, which meant there was nothing stopping us from moving in.

Getting our beautiful bed all set up was a pretty quick process. With the bed frame built and the slipcover steamed, we got right to work unpacking and unrolling our new Logan & Cove Frontier Mattress. Creating a cozy and comfortable bed was really important to us, so I did a ton of research before ordering up our mattress. Logan & Cove kept coming up again and again as the best luxury hybrid mattress – the reviews were consistently great and I loved that they have a hybrid option that utilized both traditional coils as well as foam, and of course, that quilted euro-top was like the icing on the cake. We also really loved the idea of supporting a business that makes their mattresses right here in Canada! After all that research, we were feeling very sure about our choice to go with a Logan & Cove mattress and after reaching out to them, I’m so thrilled we were able to partner up to work together on this project.

Unpacking and unrolling our new mattress was a quick and painless process, taking just a few minutes to get it from box to bed. Honestly, installing a new mattress in our home has never been SO easy! I still remember the maneuvering it took to move our old mattress into our home – getting two box springs and a big, heavy mattress up our spiral staircase and around all of the hallway corners and doorways was not only hard work, but so tricky to maneuver. This was our first experience ordering up a mattress online, but the process was so quick and seamless from ordering to moving it in and setting it all up – now that we know how simple and seamless it can be, I can’t imagine we’ll ever choose to shop for a new mattress any other way.

I’m sure it’s no surprise that the minute we got this mattress unrolled, we all had to curl up onto it to test it out (even Carson couldn’t resist trying it). This was our first time ordering up a mattress that we hadn’t actually tried beforehand, relying solely on reviews from others instead (and finding comfort in knowing we had a 365 night trial period just in case). We weren’t exactly sure what to expect, but as we unrolled our new mattress, we were pleasantly surprised at how soft the pillow top felt and the beautiful quilted design made it look so luxurious and inviting. Laying on the mattress for the first time felt equally surprising for us – I mean, the reviews online were really great, but having the chance to try it out ourselves now, we were thrilled at how supportive the mattress felt and the pillow top provided just the right amount of soft cushioning.

After getting our new mattress all set up, I had Brady haul in the nightstands from our guest room (a perfect fit while we wait for our new ones to arrive!) while I got to work making up our brand new bed. Our Logan & Cove Frontier Mattress came with a Comfort Sleep Bundle (it comes free with the purchase of any Logan & Cove mattress!), which included a mattress protector, a set of cotton sheets, premium pillows and pillow protectors – making it so easy to pull together a cozy sleeping space. And so, I got right to work adding on all of the layers to create our cozy little nest to curl up in.

With a beautiful base in place, I brought in a few more blankets to top it all off – utilizing neutral colours with rich textures that coordinated so perfectly with the crisp white sheets from Logan & Cove. Our new bed felt more & more inviting with each new layer I added.

Logan & Cove also sent me a set of linen sheets to try too and they feel so soft and luxurious. If you’ve never tried linen sheets, you need to! They’re soft and breathable and just my absolute favourite to sleep in. For now, I’ve opted to stick with the white sheets this time around, mostly because I love the look of crisp white sheets in the Winter, but I definitely plan to pull out the linen as Summer rolls in again. Linen sheets are a cozy option all year round, but their breathability and moisture wicking material makes them especially great through the Summer months.

I am head-over-heels in love with the way this bedroom is coming together! While our bedroom may still be not quite finished yet, you’d never know as we crawl into this cozy nest every night.
