The Beginnings of Christmas Around the House

This post has been a long time coming – we’ve been slowly unpacking the bins and boxes of decor, spreading Christmas all around the house for more than a month now, but life has felt SO busy lately, it’s been hard to find the time to share it all. I did manage to snap some photos a couple of weeks ago and figured I should probably carve out some time to share them here with you all before I miss my chance – I cannot believe Christmas Day is just over one week away!
So, grab yourself a warm cuppa and come on in my friends!

This year’s decor was pretty similar to last year’s (check that out here), though I swapped out the copper and brown ribbons for shades of red instead. I love the festive feel those pops of red bring!

I absolutely LOVE the way these Norfolk garlands drape down our staircase (similar here). I always use velcro cord ties to attache them to our railings and then cover those with a length of ribbon tied up with a beautiful bow.

We kept things really simple throughout our entry way and study (and the rest of the house really too). Just greenery, ribbons and some holiday plaids brought in through the textiles.

Our living room, dining space and kitchen feel just as cozy with more greenery and ribbon layered throughout. Even though we still haven’t managed to get any ornaments onto our tree, it all just feels so cozy and inviting.

I wove some inexpensive twinkle lights through all of the garlands on our mantels and stair railings and it all feels even more magical as we curl up in front of the fire in the evenings (they’re controlled by remote, which makes them so easy to turn on and off).

We carried more greenery and red ribbon throughout the dining area and kitchen as well and it’s been the perfect backdrop for all of our holiday baking (which admittedly has been pretty limited this year).
Our holiday decor feels much more sparse and simple than in years passed, but it somehow feels cozier than ever this year.

Wishing you such a lovely day my friends!
