Weekend Reading #192
A quick little update & my favourite reads from the week.
Oh, it’s been a minute my friends! While I’ve been sharing away over on Instagram stories, it’s been ages since I’ve found the time to sit down and put together a blog post. We spent the last weeks of August enjoying all the Summer things – paddle boarding, biking, family visits, baking classes, road trips and even another half marathon in the books. All that summer fun didn’t leave much room for renovations, but that was a-okay with us. And then, just as I was gearing up to jump back into all the things, I was offered a teaching opportunity I couldn’t refuse. So, rather than helping out with renovation projects as I’d planned, I found myself setting up a classroom at the last minute instead.
While it was a BIG mental shift to go from no job on the horizon to setting up a classroom less than 24 hours later, I honestly couldn’t be more excited about the adventure ahead! Thankfully while I spent my days at the school getting ready for a new school year, Brady picked up the slack at home and kept the renovations moving along. He finished up tiling the floor in our primary bath and is so darn close to finishing up the shower too! He also made the trek into the city to pick up all of our doors, trim, shiplap and hardwood – luckily, I made it home from work just in time to help him unload and cart it all upstairs.
We’re hoping to get the last of the tiling finished up in the shower this weekend and then we’ll be ready to move onto shiplap, doors and trim next week! I’m planning to put together a renovation update here soon, but in the mean time stay tuned to Insta stories to keep an eye on our progress.
