Well friends, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but October is somehow rolling in already.
Y’all are probably looking out your windows at all sorts of pretty colours, but here in northern Alberta, we’re already deep into our Fall season, with the last few leaves dropping quickly from the trees.
The cooler weather has been with us for a while now and I’m all too happy to have the excuse to stay warm with my favourite sweaters, scarves and boots. We’ve enjoyed plenty of mornings and evenings in front of the fire already and I’ve slowly been digging out all of our cozy faux fur and plaid to fill up our couch with.
We’ve been hard at work on our front porch space (hoping to share it soon!), shopping for new windows (can’t wait to share more about that this week!) and of course, finishing up my office (FINALLY!).
With the porch almost done and our new windows finally on their way (just in time for the cold weather I might add), we’re gearing up to take on our next One Room Challenge makeover …
Curious about which room we chose?
I can’t wait to share all the details later this week!!!
In the mean time, here’s a quick update of where I am currently …
Reading: I just picked up this book and can’t wait to see what it’s all about!
Writing: I just started writing up the first instalment in a 5-part series about replacing our windows. We’re doing it all ourselves, from the shopping to the instal and I can’t wait to walk y’all through the process!
Watching: I just caught the premier “This is Us” and can already tell this will be one of my favourite new shows!
Needing: A new mat for our front door (when did I become so practical?).
Creating: A cozy farmhouse style front porch!
Learning: How to compost! Thank goodness for this bin and these compostable bags!!! Who knew it could be so easy!
Planning: Our cozy farmhouse style porch reveal all dressed up for Fall!
Loving: This gorgeous buffet that I put to work in my office space!
Dreaming about: The Christmas season already (don’t hate)!
Wearing: I’ve been layering this on everywhere I go!
Coveting: All sorts of gorgeous farmhouse decor finds … {sigh}.
Working for me right now: My new office space!!! #surebeatsthekitchentable
What’s not: Planning out our latest reno project for the ORC – feeling totally overwhelmed by everything I still have to figure out.
Anticipating: Thanksgiving with my family! Here in Canada, we celebrate our Thanksgiving in October and I’m so, so excited to catch up with everyone!!!
I’d LOVE to hear where are you currently? What’s new and exciting?
Now please excuse me while I curl up with my latest read & a morning coffee…
Wishing you SUCH a lovely week!

I love these posts you do! I am also loving the new show This Is Us. I think it is filling the whole in my heart that the show Parenthood left. 🙂 Have a fabulous day!
Awwww, well thank you! And I couldn’t agree more, both of those shows are awesome!!! Hope you had an amazing Sunday Chelsea!!!
Great post. I am looking forward to wearing the warm sweaters too but not just yet. Here in my area of NY we have some beautiful Autumn colors but the weather has not been cold enough for sweaters. At least not most of the day, early morning is another story. And your office looks beautiful. Have a blessed day!
How lucky!!! Enjoy it while you can for sure! Thanks so much for your kind words, wishing you a wonderful week!
Kristi,
Your photos are wonderful, and I love your custom Pin-It button to save them on my Pinterest boards.
Judith
Thank you so, so much Judith for your kind words!
What a lovely space you have there, just beautiful. Hard to believe you’re already enjoying fires and such. Here in Southeast Texas we’re last on the list for autumn but I do love October and the subtle changes it brings.
Stopping by from Richella’s Grace at Home series.
Happy Weekend!
I can’t imagine! We’ve been waking up to frost most mornings! Enjoy it Dayle!!! And wishing you a wonderful weekend as well!
Kristi it is so nice to visit your blog. It is such a breath of fresh air and calm. We need all the calm we can get in our busy lives. And you know better than everyone that the life of a blogger is much busier than most peoples. I know you are going to do great with the new OCR. You have prtoven to be a master at those room makeovers and you will wow us again. Happy belated Thanksgiving.
Thank you so much Mary! You’re always such a sweet friend! Life is feeling pretty crazy right now around here, but it means so much to have that encouragement pouring in to push us through! Thank you!
I’m enjoying the leaves changing colors here in New England! The weather is definitely cooling down so I’m finishing all of my outdoor projects. Your post makes me want to snuggle up with a good book and a bug cup of joe 🙂
Thanks Angie! I bet you have some amazing colours showing up in the trees out that way!
