Easy ways to create a unique & beautiful farmhouse style office space…
Gooooood morning friends!
It’s finally here …
It’s such a beautiful day for an office reveal, don’t you think?
I’ve literally been waiting months for this day to come…
About six months, just in case you’d forgotten.
Yes, six long months ago, I painted this beautiful wall…
And so began my office makeover.
Having a creative space all my own has been a dream of mine for years now.
A place where I can create, reflect & feel inspired.
And of course, not only have I been dying to finally have this space all finished up, but friends, I’ve been SO excited to to share it with y’all! It may have taken six long months to pull together, but oh my goodness, was it ever worth it!
Come on in friends… I can’t wait to show y’all around!
There isn’t any part of this room I don’t absolutely adore! It’s filled with so many special pieces and lovely treasures.
I feel SO very honoured to sit behind this beautiful antique desk – it used to belong to my husband’s grandfather and has such a special history (read more about it all here).
I found THE MOST PERFECT chair to sit behind it …
Okay, so it may technically be a “dining chair”, but with it’s rich linen fabric and the brass nailhead accents, I think this gorgeous chair from The Brick fits the farmhouse vibe of this space perfectly! Plus, it’s SO comfortable I can spend hours at my desk and feel completely comfortable (obviously an important thing to think about as a blogger)!
Speaking of comfy chairs – I couldn’t resist adding a cozy reading nook tucked into this corner. Not only am I a huge book lover (check out what I’m reading here & here), but it’s such a nice spot to curl up with my laptop and catch up with y’all.
Every reading nook needs a big cozy chair to curl up in and of course, a sweet little side table to set your coffee. With it’s soft linen fabric and pretty farmhouse style details, I’ve fallen hard for this gorgeous arm chair from The Brick.
And the lovely table next to it was a gift from a dear friend that I simply painted up with a coat of Cloud White from Benjamin Moore to match my desk and trim work (you can check out my secret to painting anything in just minutes here).
A chippy old vintage door and a dry erase board I made from an antique window were the perfect ways to bring a bit of height to this corner as well.
Every office needs a ton of storage space and I’m SO excited about the farmhouse style pieces I found to put to work in here! They’re actually both dining room pieces, but I love the unexpected character they bring to the space!
With a quick coat of paint, this vintage china cabinet gives me such a pretty way to display some of my favourite crafting supplies!
I absolutely adore that soft green colour (see the transformation here)!
A lovely antique ladder and pretty fig tree help balance the other corner of this wall.
And of course, what might just be my favourite piece of all – this incredible farmhouse style buffet table from The Brick!
{sigh}
With it’s beautiful lines, distressed, creamy finish and all that charm and character it brings to my office space, I’ve completely fallen head over heels in love with it!
And let’s not forget the storage! I love all the nooks and shelves it has to put out my prettiest decor, while the drawers (which are velvet lined by the way), give me some much needed space to tuck away things I might not want on display.
I adore how sweet it looks styled with these rustic lamps, this 2-tier tray (which I painted in that same beautiful green as my china cabinet) and that gorgeous boxwood wreath hanging from the wood shutters (tutorial coming soon!).
And of course I’ve filled up each shelf with treasures too like that rustic hardware bin from my favourite online vintage shop (find my list of the very best online shops for farmhouse decor here).
I added even more natural texture with a basket tucked beside it to hold all of my pretty wrapping papers.
Of course, we had to update our doors with some farmhouse style too (find the tutorial for the door here and the farmhouse style trim here). It really makes SUCH a big difference in the space and brings a lot of character to the entire room!
And because a girl can never have too much storage, I couldn’t resist adding a rustic coat hook to the back and a metal file holder on the wall for even more storage space.
This lovely farmhouse style memo board has to be one of my favourite DIY projects in this space!
I think it looks so pretty with my DIY dreamcatcher hanging from it!
And let’s not forget that sweet little shiplap clock to help keep me on track (okay, who am I kidding, but it sure looks cute)!
Finally, with it’s classic styling, this beautiful light couldn’t be more perfect for those late nights at work!
I truly feel like each and every inch of this space speaks to me & I couldn’t be happier with how it’s all come together! #surebeatsthatkitchentable
I hope y’all love it as much as I do!

So nicely done. I like how the room is feminine and welcoming, but not so feminine that a man wouldn’t feel comfortable in it. You have a nice balance for a home office. Beautiful.
