This gorgeous vintage cabinet was the perfect way to add some farmhouse style office storage that is both practical and beautiful!
Okay, I know what you’re thinking…
This must be the slooooowest office makeover in the history of the world.
And you know what, it probably is.
{sigh}
I’m still holding onto hope that it will all be worth it!
But that doesn’t make all of this waiting any easier.
It may have taken six long months, but things are finally starting to come together…
With the main pieces of the puzzle taken care of (read: desk & chair), I can’t wait to start filling the rest of the space with some practical pieces that not only look pretty, but bring some functionality to the space.
And friends, have I found the perfect piece to get me started!
I’ve had this old china cabinet in our kitchen for years now. Though I love the pretty details on this vintage piece, I’ve always had other plans in mind for this one. Since the day my mother-in-law gifted it to us so many years ago (keep in mind this was long before our days of DIYing), I’ve thought it would make for the most lovely storage in a bedroom or office space.
This Spring I was so over the moon excited to see my visions for the matching buffet come to life in our new farmhouse style bathroom space…
It had me all the more eager to finally tackle the matching cabinet!
I slipped a few pieces of boxboard in front of the glass to protect it.
And, thanks to this brilliant tool, I had the entire thing all painted up in less than ten minutes (and that’s two coats my friends)! Can you believe it?!
I hummed and hawed trying to pick a colour for ages and, after weeks of looking at samples, I finally decided on this lovely gray green {otherwise known as CONTENTED} from Sherwin-Williams.
I love the subtle pop of colour it brings to the space!
It truly puts a smile on my face every time I look at it.
In fact, I loved this gorgeous colour SO much, I even used it to paint up this lovely little 2-tier tray…
I couldn’t be more excited to see this office space coming together and can’t wait to share the finished space with y’all soon!!!
Huge thanks to Sherwin-Williams for providing this gorgeous paint for my cabinet and making it so darn easy to recommend their incredible paint! For more information, please see my privacy and disclosure policies.
Wishing you SUCH a lovely day friends!
It’s so so pretty!! I love the subtle green color. All the pretty details really stand out with a fresh coat of paint!
Thank you Sarah! I’m head over heels in love with it too and I really think it will make for some lovely storage in my new office!
Did you use a spray gun to paint this? And if so what brand do you use? I’m looking to purchase one. PS I love! love! love! the cabinet!
I did! Here’s an affiliate link for the sprayer I used … http://amzn.to/2bLfl2r. I’ve tried a few different sprayers now and this one is by far my favourite. Thank you so much for your kind words, hope this helps Chris!
Hey girl Love the cabinet! So cool! And the bathroom vanity is so pretty! Great job!

It is a stunning piece, Kristi! I love the door especially and that color is perfect! CANNOT wait to see the whole room! Xo
Thanks Kendra! I am DYING to share it all soon!!! xo
beautiful! did you have to seal it with anything?
Thank you Joan! I didn’t bother sealing this as it won’t see a ton of hard use, but if you choose to paint something you use on a daily basis or might be a bit harder on, you should definitely think about sealing it.
What a gorgeous piece! I would have never thought to try a gray-green like that but I love how it’s a pop of color that still reads “neutral”!
YES! That’s exactly what I was going for! I love that colour so much that I’m thinking it might just work its way into some other rooms as well. Thank you so, so much Megan!
