Ahhhh, the incredible power of paint! I can’t wait to show y’all how I completely transformed this farmhouse tray in less than 5 minutes with the fastest and easiest coat of paint ever!
Hello friends!
Welcome to another #MonthlyDIYChallenge! Y’all know how much fun I have teaming up with my talented bloggy friends the first Wednesday of each month to see the different ideas we can come up with from the very same starting point!
This month we’ve teamed up with HomeRight to show y’all how we put their brilliant spray shelters to work as we took full advantage of the incredible power of paint to transform some truly old & tired pieces!
We all know the power of paint. It’s no secret friends. It’s inexpensive, easy to use and the possibilities are endless really – from walls, to furniture and everything in between, paint is by far the easiest way to transform the look and feel of pretty much anything!
But…
As simple as it is, painting can also be incredibly time consuming. Even painting the tiniest thing, can take hours if there are lots of little details or designs to work around. Plus, it can take some skill to make things look “professional” – read: not streaky, clumpy, uneven or otherwise messy. And honestly, who has hours to waste painting something when they really don’t have to?
Which is why this brilliant little machine has been SO life-changing for me! With all the renovations and crafty projects I’ve done through the last few years, I certainly know how to work a paint brush, buuuuut, since discovering how quick and easy this paint sprayer makes things, I find myself avoiding the brush and roller at all costs now.
It just makes SUCH quick work of even the biggest of projects!
Remember those doors I painted up for our farmhouse style hallway? I had all six painted up with two coats of paint in just minutes!
MINUTES!
Seriously, where has this thing been all my DIY life?!
And, just when I thought things couldn’t get better, I discovered this…
A way to paint without the mess!
Ahhhh, I couldn’t wait to test this thing out – hubs and I had the spray shelter set up in just a few minutes and away I went, trusty sprayer in hand.
In went my farmhouse tray…
And just five minutes later, with a quick coat of {contented} from Sherwin-Williams, here’s what I ended up with…
Gorgeous colour, perfect finish, and NO MESS!
I swear, the only way this could have been any easier is if I had found this smaller table top shelter first (which is already on it’s way now too!), though I know this bigger one will be getting a ton of use too!
Big thanks to Sherwin-Williams for providing the paint for this project and of course to HomeRight for sponsoring this month’s challenge! For more information, please see my privacy and disclosure policies.
We are so excited to offer y’all a chance to win an incredible prize package from HomeRight – one lucky reader will win a Finish Max Sprayer with rapid clean kit, large spray shelter & small spray shelter – everything you need to paint anything in just minutes! Just follow the links in the rafflecopter below for your chance to win.
Good luck friends!
And now, be sure to check out the fabulous projects that my bloggy friends created for this month’s challenge too!
Wishing you SUCH a lovely day!

Such a beautiful tray Kristi, and perfect for your office! It’s coming together beautifully! xo
Thank you sweet friend! xo
I’d love to paint a few picture frames that I have, they are white, but not the same white. I’d love to do them all at once and get a uniform look. Then, who knows! I might just go big and paint a dresser I have!
Well this sprayer and tent combo would certainly make quick work of it all! Happy painting Michelle!
Lovely job, Kristi! My husband is going to check out this paint sprayer!
Your home is beautiful! Just love to read your posts and see all your lovely pictures! I am new to your blog and am really enjoying it!
Kristi, would you be able to tell me where I could find the “word” picture you have hanging in your hallway — “Count my blessings, Practice kindness, etc.” Would love to purchase one for our “country” home! Thanks, Kristi!
Have a great day!
You are just so sweet Mary-Ann! Thank you! I know just the picture you mean and it was actually made for me by a very talented friend at The Summery Umbrella – here’s an affiliate link to her shop: http://rstyle.me/n/bwu8tebz687. Wishing you such a wonderful day friend!
I have several items that need painting but my biggest are 4 outdoor ancient metal chairs. I am new at painting items so this sounds so exciting. I will check out your projects and tutorials to learn how.

Such an amazing transformation, Kristi! I think I need this spray shelter, I’m know to be a messy painter ๐
Hahaha! I’m not sure there’s such a thing as a neat painter! ๐ Thanks so much Sarah!
Thanks for the giveaway!
You’re welcome Anne! Good luck!
I have a lot in my house that needs a re-fresh that I could use this on!
Oh good! Good luck Linda!
Well this post came at the perfect time! (maybe a bit late!) I was spray painting the legs of a table I am refinishing in our garage last week and the little paint particles definitely made their way around the garage- oops!
My husband was not very pleased and cleaned out the entire garage on the weekend to get rid of the little flecks of white haha! Thank goodness they didn’t settle on his motorcycle or I would really be in trouble! The spray shelter would be perfect for me since my husband would definitely prefer I keep my project-ing out of the garage now ๐
Oh, this shelter would be so perfect for you then! Good luck Marisol!
That is quite awesome! I would love that sprayer because I have a kitchen table and the desk I am at right now that are seriously in need of a spruce-up.
Oh perfect! Good luck Amy!
I have the spray shelter and the sprayer and have yet to use either. You have shown me the way so I can get some projects done faster, The tray looks great.
Once you try them Debra, you’ll never want to paint without them again! Good luck friend!
Very pretty! love the white vintage look! My favorite!
Maria
Thanks so much Maria!
Love the color you chose for your tray! I think I need one of these spray shelters in my life ๐ Thanks for linking up with Merry Monday.
Thank you! I’m head over heels in love with that gorgeous green too! And that spray shelter has been such an amazing tool to help control the painting mess!
That really cleaned up nice Kristi. It really makes a difference when you have the right equipment to get things done quickly. And we know we have much more important work than painting.
Isn’t that the truth! ๐ Thanks so much Mary!!!
Way too many ads on your blog which ruined the entire experience / article for me. ?
I’m SO sorry Kate! We’re actually in the process of switching ad providers, which should make our user experience so much better in the weeks to come!!! I hope you’ll give us another chance!
