This canvas memory board took me just minutes to whip up and it’s such a pretty way to display photos, cards and all those little things you just don’t want cluttering up your fridge.
Hello friends!
Welcome to another #MonthlyDIYChallenge! Y’all know how much fun I have teaming up with my talented bloggy friends the first Wednesday of each month to see the different ideas we can come up with from the very same starting point!
A simple, blank canvas is so easy to find, so this month we couldn’t resist sharing all sorts of ideas to help inspire you the next time you walk by one in a shop.
I cannot wait to see what my bloggy friends have come up with, but first, let’s chat about my own…
Vintage Lace Canvas Memory Board
The thing is, with six zillion other projects on the go at the moment (ahem, this hallway makeover has totally taken over our lives), I didn’t have a ton of time to create something too elaborate here. Thankfully, this quick and easy project turned out even better than I’d imagined!
So, let me just tell you how simple this was to make…
I started of course, with my blank canvas. I knew I didn’t want to leave the canvas white, and I actually debated covering it with fabric, but in the interest of keeping things as quick and easy as possible, in the end, I opted to simply cover it with two coats of chalk paint (find similar here), using a disposable foam brush. Doesn’t get much easier than that!
Then it was just a matter of attaching a few stings of twine, linen ribbon and crochet lace haphazardly across the canvas, with a staple in the back on each end (using my trusty staple gun of course).
Finally, I used a few of these super cute mini-clothespins to hang some special photos and notes.
And that’s it my friends! A lovely little memo board to fill up with all sorts of treasures! Let me tell you, my overflowing fridge door is thanking me (seriously, how many heart crafts can one little boy make? Just kidding! I treasure each and everyone of them, I swear!).
This really was one of those projects that turns out even better than you’d imagined…
And now my friends, I’m sure you’re just as excited to see what everyone else came up with too…
Wishing you SUCH a lovely day!
