The easiest and most charming DIY chalkboard EVER! This DIY chalkboard made from a vintage door is so sweet and full of character!
Well my friends, it’s officially Fall.
I’m not usually one to procrastinate, but here we are with what could be just a few weeks before the snow flies (this is northern Alberta after all!) and our entire list of Summer projects left to complete. Yikes!
I’ve had a list a mile long of projects I’d hoped to tackle before the warm weather leaves us and the snow starts falling (because we all know Winter will be here before we know it!). Unfortunately, we were having so much fun actually enjoying our Summer, we couldn’t find even a spare minute that we wanted to devote to anything even resembling productivity. #sorrynotsorry I had some BIG plans to completely renovate the exterior of our home, adding all sorts of charm and curb appeal. But, needless to say, not a single one of those big, grand ideas actually came to life, which means, here I am, smack dab in the middle of Fall, just getting started with things. {sigh} #itwasworthit
I shared some of our grand plans last week when I shared the makings of a farmhouse style porch and thankfully, things are well under way!
We’ve got some pretty concrete poured, some gorgeous new barn lights up, and even some new windows ordered (eeeew!). The comfy new furniture is on it’s way and now, we’ve got ourselves a super sweet chalkboard full of charm and character…
You won’t believe how simple it was to make! You can pop on over to Lolly Jane to see the full tutorial.
I hope you think this DIY chalkboard made from an old vintage door is just as cute as I do!
Wishing you SUCH a lovely day!

Thank you so, so much Shawnna!

Awwww, well thanks Sarah!!!
Kristi, this is awesome! I’ve been itching to make over the old doors I have siting in our basement, but didn’t know where I’d put them–meanwhile trying to figure out some sort of large sign for our front porch–*head smack*. What a great idea to display it out there!
Oh yay!!!! I’m so thrilled to hear that you’re feeling inspired! Thanks so much Megan!
Popped over there! You did a GREAT job with this girl! Such a creative use of a door!
Thank you Lindi! I absolutely LOVE it too! xo
I love this idea! I done a chalkboard in my son’s room and framed it with trim. But I would love to do this on a door.
Following you from #turnituptuesday
Thanks so much! It’s definitely a fun way to put an old door to work!
What a great way to use this old door! I can’t wait to see how you change it up for each season or holiday.
Awwww, well thanks Jenna! Considering my last chalkboard still says “happy SPRING”, it’s not looking good! 😉
It’s great to see you always present creative and novel projects. Keep it up darling XOXO
Thanks so much Jennifer!
