Currently {Life in December}

Well hello December!!! I’m SO happy you’re here!

It’s officially the most wonderful time of the year my friends…

This farmhouse Christmas family room looks SO cozy and inviting! What a lovely space to spend the holidays!

Beautiful lights are twinkling everywhere you look.

Everything is covered in a beautiful blanket of white.

There’s so much excitement and happy energy buzzing all around.

And you can’t help but smile at everyone you meet on the street.

It really is such a magical time of year.

And I swear, it gets better with each passing year.

This year we couldn’t be more excited to create all sorts of wonderful memories in our new family room space!

We’ve already enjoyed a few Christmas movies all curled up on this cozy couch from The Brick.

Of course, there’s sure to be a few game nights around this beautiful trunk coffee table as well.

And I cannot wait to huddle in front of a warm fire as we open our gifts on Christmas morning!

Since finishing up our farmhouse style family room, we haven’t really had a moment’s rest…

We’ve been busy I\installing new windows all over the house.

Thinking about installing your own windows? It's a great way to save a ton of money and it's so much easier than you might think! Don't miss this step-by-step guide all about how to install new windows.

Taking on our last renovation of the year (read more about it here).

It’s been a busy, but very exciting last few months here in the Mercer house.

But, we’re definitely feeling ready to slow down for the holidays.

Thankfully, the second half of December (and all the way into January) will be all about enjoying Christmas with our family with no hammers or paint brushes in sight.

So, with nothing but good things to look forward to, here’s a quick update of where I am currently

Reading: I just picked up I’m still working my way through this book. Gaining insight into how and why we make the decisions we do has been fascinating!

Writing: All the Christmas tours (and there’s a few of them this year)!

Watching: I’ve been feeling nostalgic as I work my way through Gilmore Girls once again.

Needing: Last month I mentioned my need for new dishes (can’t wait to show y’all which ones I went with!), this month I’m shopping for new flatware and I’m having the hardest time in the world deciding!

Creating: This one’s still under wraps until next week, but I cannot wait to share what we’ve been up to!

Learning: How to bake up some new Christmas treats!

Planning: To sit back, relax and enjoy the Christmas season with our family … just as soon as we finish up this one last room.

Loving: This soft and cozy blanket on these cold winter’s nights.

Dreaming about: All things Christmas!

Wearing: These warm boots are a must have through our cold AB winters!

Coveting: All things Christmas at Pottery Barn. {sigh}

Working for me right now: Online Christmas shopping!

What’s not: Our oven is on the fritz (yes, right in time for Christmas!) – I’m liking the look of this one from The Brick to replace it!

Anticipating: Our first Christmas in our new family room!
