Sharing A Quick Update On All Things {Currently}…

I can’t believe the difference from last month’s currently post to this one – who knew things could change so drastically, so quickly, all over the world in just one short month. Last month, we were planning our last ski trips of the season, which spring sports C wanted to play, the renovations we wanted to take on next and where we wanted to explore for our summer vacations. And here we are, just one month later, living a very different life, in a very different world.
If you’ve been following along with my posts lately, you’ll know we’ve found some fun ways to keep busy around the house and make the most of #stayinghome. I’ve been taking advantage of this extra time at home: making my way through the pile of books that have been building up on my nightstand, baking some of those recipes I’d been pinning away, getting back into running again, and learning some new hobbies that I’ve always wanted to try. Even better, Carson’s been joining me in learning watercolour painting too – we’ve both been loving the chance to get creative together!
Carson has been coping even better than I’d expected as well – he’s never been a huge fan of school (though he does love so many parts of it), so the chance to learn online has been really fun for him actually. And, though he’s REALLY missing his friends, we’ve found some fun ways to connect with friends – mailing cards + letters, leaving notes + packages on doorsteps and even playing games over FaceTime. Honestly, he seems to be enjoying the freedom to float through his days as he chooses, and I’m so grateful for that right now.
Brady’s been working from home for the last four weeks now too and though I’m sure he’d tell you that that’s not always an easy feat, especially with a kiddo at home all day, we’re all incredibly grateful for that opportunity.
Though there’s so much about our usual that we’re missing right now (hugging our family is at the top of that list!), and the uncertainty of it all can feel overwhelming + stressful at times, I think we’ve all fallen into a comfortable routine together for the time being. I hope you are all feeling safe + cozy at home with your family right now too.
A few scenes from our month…

And now, here’s a quick little update of where we are currently…
CURRENTLY.

Reading: I’ve suddenly found myself with a few more free hours in my day lately, so I’ve found myself curled up with a book even more than usual lately. I’ve made my way through a few reads in the last month, but my favourite would have to be The Last House Guest. Right now, I’m reading The Best Kind of People and, though I’m only about halfway through now, it’s been SO good!
Writing: I’ve been starting every day by reflecting with gratitude and it’s been such a huge help to focus on all the good right now.
Watching: All the old classics on Disney+. We’ve been having A LOT of movie nights together as a family lately and they’ve been such a fun distraction for us all. Mostly we’ve been working our way through some classics from our youth (and beyond) and I’m surprised how much we’ve all been loving them! It’s been fun for Brady and I to relive some of the nostalgia from our childhood and honestly, curled up on the couch with my family around a big old bowl of popcorn has been one of my favourite places to be lately.
Needing: Some vintage style runners for either side of our bed.
Creating: I’ve been trying out all sorts of creative projects, taking advantage of the extra time at home these last few weeks to try my hand at some skills + crafts I’ve always admired (read more about them here).
Planning: Some projects we can tackle without having to leave the house. Either my paint stash is going to come in really handy, or this will turn out to be my version of cutting my own hair.
Loving: Seeing that sunshine work its way through all the snow we’ve still got sticking around. SO ready for Spring!

Wearing: I’ve been living in leggings lately and I’m not sorry about it.
Coveting: This bed. So dreamy.

Working for me right now: Running again. I always lose the motivation to get moving through the cold Winter months, but once the temperatures start to warm up again, it always feels so good to get back out there.
What’s not: This never ending Winter.
Anticipating: Working in the garden. Have I mentioned how excited I am for Spring?!

I’d LOVE to hear where are you currently? How are you doing with everything going on lately? Are you finding some ways to make the most of staying home?
Wishing you SUCH a lovely day, tucked in safely at home my friends!
