Hello friends! Welcome to August?! Wait… that can’t be right, can it?
How is it possible that we’re halfway through our Summer already?
We had SUCH big plans for projects around the house, yet here we are, rolling into August already without a single one of them even started! Ahhhhh!
I suppose it’s not such a bad thing to be so busy enjoying our Summer that we forget to get any work done. After all, Summers are about as short as can be around here. Might as well enjoy it all while we can!
After a fun and relaxing July, we’re finally getting our butts in gear to tackle some of these big projects we’ve had circling around our heads these last few months. We’re taking on our BIGGEST project yet and I cannot wait to spill the beans soon!!!
In the mean time, here’s a quick update of where I am currently …
Reading: I’m almost finished this brilliant read, and honestly, it’s been totally mind blowing!
Writing: I feel like I haven’t been writing much of anything these days, but I did just finish jotting down a list of projects for our next ORC makeover (coming this Fall!).
Watching: Truthfully, Big Brother. I’m not proud to say it, but I just can’t help wasting those three hours each week – it’s become a Summer tradition!
Needing: These gorgeous bookends from Magnolia Home … they’d look so perfect in my office space. {sigh}
Creating: An office space all my own!!!
Learning: How to juggle a zillion balls in the air at once (figuratively of course).
Planning: My office reveal, our next ORC makeover and another HUGE project in between it all. Seriously. My head is spinning.
Loving: This brilliant coffee maker has totally changed my life! Good riddance Keurig … you can bet I won’t miss those mornings you refused to work (even though you were just a few months old!) and I have to say I feel so much better about not adding 3-4 little cups to our landfill every day.
Dreaming about: All sorts of projects I’d like to tackle around the house…
Wearing: I’ve been wearing these super cute sandals EVERYWHERE!
Coveting: All sorts of gorgeous farmhouse decor finds … {sigh}.
Working for me right now: This brilliant planner.
What’s not: Trying to juggle it all. When will I learn?!
Anticipating: Enjoying every possible second of what’s left of our Summer!!!
I’d LOVE to hear where are you currently? What’s new and exciting?
Now please excuse me while I curl up with my latest read & a morning coffee…
Wishing you SUCH a lovely week!

Those sandals are super cute!! And I need a book for the lake next week!! Might have to check that one out! Can’t wait to hear about your projects you’ve got planned! xo
Thanks so much Kendra! I’ve been living in those sandals, they’re SO comfy and that book is definitely worth a read! Enjoy the lake next week, lucky girl! xo
What a nice post – It’s fun to see everything you’re up to! I’m also starting to plan for ORC 🙂 Can’t wait to see what you’re going to do!
Thanks so much Casey! Happy planning!!!
August for me is birthday month. I am mailing cards, making phone calls, sending emails, and taking a beach weekend for my own. It is also last minute planning and setup and attending a local author book signing at the public library. And at the office, its busy busy busy with phone calls and online work with our customers as they begin a new physical year. In my off time, I am sitting in my swing, or in the hot tub, or in a lounge chair reading historical fiction “The Virgin’s Lover” about Queen Elizabeth. In the kitchen I just finished up making fig preserves, and am now tackling verde salsa! Oh, and that reminds me, we are taking dance lessons one night a week. This month it is TANGO! So much fun.
I enjoyed your post! 🙂 gwingal
Sounds like a busy and exciting month Nikki! Enjoy friend!

Thank you so, so much! I absolutely adore them! Wishing you a wonderful weekend as well!
Good for you Kristi. August is the time to unwind and relax. At least if you ‘re not a blogger it is. I’m trying to catch up on my SEO, the one I didn’t know about when I started the blog. One day it will all come together. Is your little guy starting school this year? Have a great rest of the month.
Thank you Mary! I’m certainly giving it my best shot. 😉 SEO is something I totally ignored for the longest time too – I should add that to my list of blog projects for older posts too. My son is heading into his second year of preschool (4 year old program this year) and cannot wait to go back! Wishing you a wonderful last few weeks of August too friend!
