Well hello November! How did you manage to sneak up SO quickly?
Y’all are probably still enjoying some lovely Fall weather and all of the colourful leaves that go with it, but here in northern Alberta, we’re already deep into our Fall season we’ve seemingly skipped right through our Fall, going straight to the snowy cold of Winter.
I’m quite likely the only person in town saying this, but we’re LOVING our Winter wonderland…
And now, with Halloween out of the way, and a blanket of snow covering everything, I can’t help but think … Christmas!
Well, just as soon as we make it through our latest renovation that is.
Just one short week until we’re through with this renovation mess, clutter and disorganization! 5 more sleeps to be exact! And I can’t wait to share it with y’all!
October was one of our busiest months yet as we finally finished up our farmhouse style porch…
And of course, worked our way through this darn One Room Challenge…
Not to mention the fact that I suddenly found myself teaching full time on top of it all. Honestly, I feel like I spent most of the month in a daze just trying my best to stay afloat.
Not to worry friends, November is looking to be a really fun one as the magic of the Christmas season starts rolling in! #Icantwait
So, after a whirlwind of an October, here’s a quick update of where I am currently …
Reading: I just picked up I’m still working my way through this book. Gaining insight into how and why we make the decisions we do has been fascinating!
Writing: Working on a post right now about Beauti-Tone’s Colour of the Year for 2017. Can’t wait to show you how I put it to work!
Watching: We’ve had no cable since starting the One Room Challenge (long story). But, that’s probably a good thing since we’ve had about zero time to watch anything anyway.
Needing: Some new dishes, but I’m having the hardest time in the world deciding – which ones are your favourite?
Creating: A cozy farmhouse style family room (in just six weeks none the less)!
Learning: I can’t wait to check out this brilliant course from my sweet friend Shannon at AKA Design! I always struggle with bringing a room together and I have no doubt this course is going to help!
Planning: To jump right into another renovation project if we ever make it through this one room challenge. Can’t wait to share all the details soon, but because I just can’t help myself, here’s a hint…
Loving: This brilliant tool has been an absolute life saver many times over!
Dreaming about: The Christmas season already (don’t hate)!
Wearing: I’ve been wearing this beautiful jacket everywhere I go (and getting all sorts of compliments on it too!). It’s SO warm and cozy!
Coveting: All things Christmas at Pottery Barn. {sigh}
Working for me right now: Having a beautiful space to work (and escape the renovation mess taking over our main floor!)…
What’s not: Our over-scheduled lives lately. Hoping things slow down through November though!
Anticipating: Decorating some pretty new spaces for the holidays!!!
I’d LOVE to hear where are you currently? What’s new and exciting?
Now please excuse me while I curl up with my latest read & a morning coffee…
Wishing you SUCH a lovely week!

Looking forward to seeing what you have in store for November and Christmas!! I love those Emma plates best !
Thanks Chelsea! And those are the plates I’m leaning towards too! Thanks for the help!!!
Hi Kristi, your coat is very chic and what a warm blend of wool and cashmere. Well done you. Plus, I always enjoy your “Currently” posts, so thank you. Best wishes on finishing up your current renovation, which hopefully will exceed your expectations.
Meanwhile, my husband and I are uber excited that come Monday, we will be receiving the Hobby Lobby faux Christmas tree we’ve been wanting for over two years. That puppy is going up right away. It’s time I give my husband the very special Christmas he deserves.
Cheers, Ardith
Thank you so, so much Ardith! I’m so happy to hear you enjoy catching up through these posts and thanks so much for sharing your update! How exciting that you’ll finally be getting the tree you’ve been wanting for so long – I’m sure it will be so beautiful!!! Happy decorating!
Kristi, I always love to read your posts! You are such a busy gal! I just don’t know where you find all the extra time to do your blog! However, I’m sure you enjoy doing it for all of us! We sure appreciate you and thank you for all your great ideas!
I have taken down all of our “fall” dรฉcor and packed it away. I just love the fall but now I am ready to put on the Christmas music and start putting up our Christmas! This is my favorite season. We just love to have people over for breakfast, lunch, dinner or for dessert and coffee (or a glass of wine) in the evening. My dear Mom would decorate our whole house for Christmas and, as a gal, I just loved all the decorations at Christmas. We are always thankful for the precious memories of our dear parents and “home” at this wonderful time of year!
Kristi, I really like the “Leila” dinnerware. I am actually thinking of ordering 8 place settings and use them along with my Christmas china which is white with red poinsettia and a gold rim. Mom and Dad gave us these dishes 40 years ago and we just love them. However, they would really look nice with adding some of the white “Leila” dinnerware to them. I have been wanting to get some white dishes for awhile now.
Your coat is so nice. Enjoy!
Hope you and your family have a great weekend while finishing up your lovely family room.
Blessings, dear friend!
Thank you so, so much Mary-Ann! Life has certainly been pretty busy lately, but it just means we’ve got so much to look forward to. I am SO excited to start decorating for Christmas around here too! Enjoy it my friend!
I LOVE the Leila dinnerware too and I’m thrilled that you’re thinking you might get a couple of sets for yourself, I bet they’ll look amazing with your lovely Christmas china!!!
Thank you so, so much for your sweet comments my friend! We actually finished up the family room this morning and I cannot wait to share it!!!
Napoli ~ but I love all 3.
Ahhh, I LOVE that set too! Thanks so much June!
hey girl great post! I just can’t wait for it to start snowing here!
Thanks Shawnna! Here’s hoping the snow is on it’s way soon!
Those dishes are all beautiful, Kristi! I honestly don’t know which one I’d choose! And that dining set from the Brick is SO gorgeous!!!
Thanks Kendra!!! I absolutely LOVE the dining set and can’t wait to fill that table with family and friends this holiday season! And I know just what you mean about the dishes, I’m totally torn.
Wow, you have been busy. I wish we would get some snow here. I am all about Christmas right now and getting an early start,
Thank you Christine! Ours has all melted away, but hoping for more soon too!
