Sharing A Quick Update On All Things {Currently}…
Oh friends, I can’t tell you how ready I am for March to roll in. Don’t get me wrong – our start to the year has been really wonderful and the boys especially have been enjoying the mountains of snow that came our way. And really, I’ve been trying so hard to stay present and enjoy the season we’re in (every cold + snowy minute of it), but oh my goodness, I just can’t help but look forward to Spring and the sunshine and warm temperatures that it’s sure to bring our way.
A few scenes from our month…

Life has been pretty busy around here this past month with Valentine’s Day celebrations (and the cookie + cupcake baking that went with it), celebrating our first year with our sweet Charley girl and of course, a whole lot of hockey.
And, in other big news: Brady and I decided to officially take our house off the market (you can read more about listing our home here). It’s something we’d been sitting with for a couple of months now – what we wanted our life to look like over the next few years and where we really wanted to settle in for a while. While we absolutely loved the character and potential of that old house and, most especially the property it sat on, the idea of starting over from scratch on an even bigger home with an even bigger renovation requirement felt quite daunting. And honestly, the more we sat with the idea of it all, the more overwhelmed we felt. Gradually, the idea of staying in this house began to grow on us. We’ve come so far with this house and truly made it into a home we absolutely love. It’s nearly finished really. With the most difficult renovations behind us, how could we just walk away and go backwards just to have to do it all over again somewhere else? What if we let ourselves continue on our journey here – finish what we started and really make this house reach its fullest potential? There are so many ideas we’ve dreamed up over our five years of living here and the idea of walking away after only making our way through half of them, leaving so much potential still on the table, made us feel a bit sad to be honest. Sure, there are things we don’t love about our home, but the more we really thought about it, the more reasons we found to stay.
And so, we’ve already started planning some pretty major changes that I cannot wait to share soon! In the mean time, here’s a quick update of where we are currently.
CURRENTLY.
Reading: Finished up this amazing read and cannot recommend it enough. I just started this book over the weekend and so far, I’m really enjoying it!
Writing: I just finished putting together a post with all of the design details, DIY projects and product sources for each room in our home. Check it out here.
Watching: Carson and I just watched Wonder on Netflix last week and absolutely LOVED it!
Needing: Can’t stop thinking about this gorgeous floral skirt.

Creating: Here’s a sneak peek of my latest crafting project.
Planning: All the house projects we’d like to tackle in 2020 (and beyond).
Loving: This simple eucalyptus wreath I made last year looks so lovely hanging in our kitchen.

Wearing: I’ve been absolutely living in this cozy cardigan (I have it in oatmeal).
Coveting: Wouldn’t this rug look ahhhhhmazing in our living room?!
Working for me right now: Choosing to take our house off the market and just settle into our home.
What’s not: This view. Ready to change things up in our bedroom.

Anticipating: Tackling all the projects that will help us fall back in love with our home again.
I’d LOVE to hear where are you currently? What are you most looking forward to in the month ahead?
Wishing you SUCH a lovely week!

Kristi, I really enjoyed reading your post today. I am glad to hear that you and your hubby have made the decision to stay in your beautiful home! You have both put so much into your renos and adding all your personal touches. You have such a lovely home! Enjoy!
It will be interesting to follow what you have planned to change in your home! Your home is already so nice! However, I know that there is always something one wants to do in their home to add a few more personal touches!
Thanks for the info on Nordstrom Canada! How nice this will be — especially with our horrible Canadian dollar. I order quite a few items from the Nordstrom Rack now. I really like their shoes and clothing.
Your dog looks so happy in your home! A dog just seems to become a part of the family — I know ours sure has!
Glad you are going to do some embroidery. I know you will enjoy doing this! I have done a lot of this plus needlepoint and petti point. I enjoy this. Now, I am into quilting — which I just love!
Have a great week!
Thanks so much Mary-Ann! We are very happy to be staying in our home after all – we’ve put so much into this house, it was hard to think about starting all over at square again.
I absolutely loved working on my first embroidery project and cannot wait to make another! I’d love to try my hand at some needlepoint too.
Thanks again Mary-Ann! I hope you had a wonderful week too my friend!
