Currently | Life in April 2025

Catching you up with all things currently.

We couldn’t be happier to see a brand new month rolling in. March was filled with a lot of hard things for us around here, here’s hoping April takes it a little easier on us. April always brings so many good things – all of the snow finally melts away outside, Easter gatherings with our family and best of all, Carson’s birthday (officially a teenager this year!). With the closet renovations finally behind us, we’re excited to get to work on the rest of our second floor including the hallway, guest room and C’s new bedroom. They’ll be new floors, doors paint and trim installed throughout – we’ve been waiting so long for this, I cannot wait to see it all come together!

Read on for a quick little update of where we are currently

CURRENTLY

Reading:ย  I’m only about 2/3 of the way through, but I’ve been devouring my latest read!

Needing: Some cute new sneakers for when this snow all melts away. I’ve been eying these up for weeks, love the fun pattern on them!

Loving: I spent way too long sick in bed last month, but these super soft sheets made for such a cozy nest to curl up in.

To Do: I need to order up a bed for C’s new room. I’ve been eyeing up this one (it comes with a matching trundle for sleepovers).

Wearing: My all time favourite boots have been getting me through every stage of Winter to Spring.

On my wish list: I’ve been thinking a lot about a phase one kitchen reno.

Planning: I’ve been working on some plans for C’s custom built-ins this week. We’re planning a cabinet for his stereo equipment (he’s got my Dad’s old set up complete with his own record player) and a built in desk (see our favourite built-in desk ideas here).

Working for me right now:ย I’ve been loving this fitness app to help take the guesswork out of my workouts.

Whatโ€™s not:ย With everything going on behind the scenes last month, my fitness goals had to take a back seat. Here’s hoping I’m able to jump right back in more consistently through April.

Anticipating:ย We’ve got a lot of fun things on the calendar through the month ahead – Easter celebrations, nieces coming to stay, and C’s 13th birthday. Not to mention Spring rolling in!

Iโ€™d LOVE to hear where are you currently! Let me know what’s new and exciting in the comments below.

Wishing you SUCH a lovely day my friends!

  1. I have the book ‘The Last One At The Wedding’ in my pile of books to read, have not gotten to it yet. I’ve heard good things about it. After your review I think I’ll make it next on my list. And I love your kitchen! Those windows are beautiful. I am blessed with a very large kitchen, it gets very little natural light. A problem I’m not sure can be fixed with a major reno.

    1. I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did! A big kitchen can be such a joy to cook and bake in and I love having the extra space to gather with family. Without seeing your kitchen, it’s hard to think of solutions, but I wonder if solar tubes might be something for you to look into, or perhaps a passthrough cutout from a wall that might give a view of a window through it? Problem solving spaces can definitely be tricky, but I always feel like working with the quirks is what brings character to a home. Hopefully you’re able to find a reasonable solution without taking on a major reno!

I can't wait to hear your thoughts!
