Instagram Saves: Built In Desks for Kids’ Rooms
Our favourite built in desks that are perfect for kids’ rooms.
The planning continues for Carson’s new bedroom space. While we’ve still got so many details to figure out – mainly choosing a wallpaper (find our favourites here) and figuring out just where we’re going to build this extra little bed nook (see all of our inspo here) – one thing we do know, is that this little corner was made for a built in desk (literally). When creating the floor plan for this new bedroom, we intentionally created this little nook beside his closet for exactly this purpose – adding his very own desk area was at the top of his wish list (along with a secret bookshelf door – read more about that here).
Right from the start, we envisioned a built in desk tucked up agains that back wall, maybe even wrapping around one of the side walls. Something with drawers below and shelves above, where he can store and display all of the many treasures he’s collected over the years. We’ve been searching up all the inspo we can find to help us plan out a design for this little desk nook and to be honest, finding built in desks inspiration has been harder than I’d expected – it just doesn’t seem to be a feature that’s used in most kids’ rooms these days I guess. Luckily, over the past several months, I’ve managed to collect some beautiful images that are definitely inspiring us with all sorts of ideas for this little nook. Today, I thought I’d share some of our favourites with you, just in case you find yourself on the hunt for some built in desk inspiration too.
