Sharing a quick update on life currently.
It’s been just over a week now since moving into our new home (you can catch up with that journey here if you missed it) and we’re already diving into a few projects around the house. There’s SO much to do, honestly, it’s hard to know where to start.
We’ve slowly been chipping away at all the little things that need to be done just for us to be able to function in our day-to-day, you know things like mounting bookshelves, installing towel hooks and mounting new stick vacuums (pretty excited about this beauty!). Brady’s also been working his way through some of the many little projects and repairs that have come up along the way too. Really, we’ve mostly spent our week just trying to get the house unpacked, set up and somewhat organized so that we can get started with some of the more fun projects we’ve been planning.
In between trying to get all the little things done this week, we did manage to tackle our first little reno project in the new house too (mostly because we hired it out to someone else!). The day we got possession of this house I called up a local painting company (the same one we’d hired to paint the exterior of our old house last month) to paint our front entryway walls and ceilings. It’s a tricky little space with crazy tall ceilings and a spiral staircase wall that I knew would require some special equipment to paint around, plus, calling in some reinforcements would mean I could have my walls painted for me while I was working away on all the other things that still needed to be done. They were able to squeeze us into their schedule just a few days after we moved in and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results!
Seeing this first little glimpse of progress was just what we needed after all the disappointment we’d felt during our move (you can catch up with that story here if you missed it) and now I’m just itching to get to work on the rest! I can’t wait to share our plans with you!
And now, here’s a quick little update of where we are currently…
Reading: I haven’t had much time or energy to read much this past month, but the few times I have sat down to read, I’ve been curling up with this book.
Writing: Putting together a post to share the before tour of our new house with y’all later this week!
Needing: To get our back-to-school shopping started. Have you started yet?
Creating: A loooong list of renovation ideas. There are SO many things that need to be done, it’s hard to know where to start!
Loving: This new stick vacuum! Not only is it the prettiest vacuum out there, but I’m so happy with how well it works!
Wearing: I live in dresses all Summer long.
On my wish list: A bigger sofa for our new living room.
Planning: A loooooong list of projects we’d love to take on in this new house. I think we’ve decided on our first project, I can’t wait to share it with you!
Working for me right now: Pinning all of our new house inspo here. I’m calling it the Tudor Cottage.
What’s not: The chaos of moving, renovating and back-to-school all at the same time. Buckle up friends, it’s going to be a bumpy ride!
Anticipating: Bringing our new/old house back to life.
I’d LOVE to hear where are you currently! Let me know what’s new and exciting in the comments below.
Wishing you SUCH a lovely day my friends!
