Sharing A Quick Update On All Things {Currently}…

I don’t know about you, but around here, we couldn’t be happier to see July rolling in. With another school year officially behind us, we’re ready for all of the exciting adventures that Summer is sure to bring. Sure, our Summer is going to look a little different this year, our vacation plans shifting as we adjust to and navigate through all of the regulations still in place around us. But, I know we’ll still manage to find some fun adventures and make so many happy memories together this Summer.
So far, we’ve planned a few day trips to the mountains to wander through a few hikes with some family. We’re also in the midst of planning a mountain bike/ golf/ paddle boarding trip (or two) through the mountains, probably camping along the way. Brady and I used to camp every Summer, both as kids growing up as well as heading out on some more adventurous trips as young adults; however, we haven’t been much since Carson came along – despite his best efforts to beg us to pull the tent out each + every Summer, we’ve only managed to get out a handful of times through the last several years. Turns out a global pandemic was all it took for us to finally consider it again. With everything going on right now, we thought renting a trailer might be the perfect opportunity to travel a bit this Summer, while still upholding all of the travel restrictions and recommendations in place and minimizing our risk.
We’re also planning a few reno projects through these next few months as well. Brady’s already started work on finishing out basement (which I hope to share more about soon!), and we’re currently sorting through siding and stone samples to finalize our plans for a massive exterior renovation as well.
With so much in the works through the next few months, our Summer is sure to be an exciting one and I can’t wait to take you all along for the ride! But for now, here’s a quick little update of where we are currently…
CURRENTLY.
Reading: Really enjoying this latest read! Each chapter has kept my mind turning even after I put it down.
Writing: A (still very long) list of all of the projects we’d still like to tackle around this house. Hoping to share it here on the blog later this week.
Watching: Besides the morning news while I catch up on emails, I’m not sure I’ve turned the TV on in months. Instead, I’ve been working my way through the giant stack of books I’d collected over the years, but never got around to reading until now. Pop on over to Goodreads for a few of my favourite recent reads.
Listening to: I’ve been soaking up every episode of this beautiful podcast.
Needing: Some new window coverings for our bedrooms – I’m thinking custom roman shades. If you have any suggestions of great places to order them, please send them my way!
Creating: I’ve just started stitching this lovely new embroidery kit. I can’t wait to see how it turns out!

Planning: Simultaneously planning out the design of our basement renovation and our new exterior. Though I’m SO excited to finally be taking these renos on, deciding on our exterior design and finishes has felt like a daunting task since day one – it feels so out of my wheelhouse and honestly, the idea of committing to one look for the next 30+ years is an overwhelming thought. Thank goodness I have a sister-in-law that does this for a living to call on for help! Luckily, with the usual decisions of paint colours, lighting, and flooring, designing the basement feels a little more straight forward at least.
Loving: All of our wood signs (take a tour of them all here).
Wearing: I’ve been living in these tank tops for weeks now (and have the tan lines to prove it!). I stocked up on all the colours – they’re super soft, breathable and so comfortable to wear as the weather warms up.
Coveting: I’ve been debating a new dining table for a while now. I really like our current table, but I find myself wishing for something a little warmer and more nostalgic feeling. This one is currently at the top of my list.

Working for me right now: I’d never be able to make it through my long runs without this running playlist.
What’s not: Finding the time to blog these last few months. I’ve got such a long list of things I’d like to share, but so much less quiet time to sit down and write.
Anticipating: Putting our new stand up paddle boards to work all Summer long!
I’d LOVE to hear where are you currently? Are you taking on any special projects this Summer?
Wishing you SUCH a lovely day my friends!
