Hello my friends!
Anyone else struggling to believe that March is on it’s way out and we are heading into April already!!! How is it that it can feel like Christmas was just yesterday, yet it seems like our Winter has lasted an eternity?! Boy am I happy to FINALLY see more grass than snow when I look out our windows!!!
Having been out of town for three of the past four weekends this month, we haven’t had a ton of time to work on many projects around the house, though we have managed to tackle a few things that I’m dying to share! Our April is shaping up to be just as busy, particularly because we’ve chosen to take on a fun bloggy challenge (read all about it below) in addition to our already chaotic real lives. I’m really starting to wonder if life will ever slow down, but I’m still holding onto hope! Naive perhaps, but I just can’t help but dream of lazy Summer days to come.
Here’s a quick update of where I am currently …

Reading: The House Girl: A Novel by Tara Conklin. I’m only a few chapters in so things are just getting started, but it’s got great reviews on Amazon so I’m confident that I’m going to love it!
Writing: After I finish up writing this Currently post, I’ll be working on our seemingly never ending to-do list for our first room makeover.
Watching: Since discovering it a few weeks ago, I’ve been recording and binge watching every single episode of Fixer Upper! I’ve got a major crush on all things Chip and Joanna Gaines!
Listening to: Just discovered Rdio – have you heard of it? It’s a great service to stream and even download music for a small monthly subscription fee.
Needing: A haircut. Yes, still.
Creating: We’re still hard at work on the first room makeover in our new home. You might have been wondering why I’ve kept all of the details so hush-hush … well, I’m thrilled to announce that I will be taking part in the #oneroomchallenge as a linking participant!!!
Have you heard of it? Hosted by Calling it Home, the One Room Challenge encourages bloggers to completely transform one room in their homes in just six weeks (yes, you read that right – SIX)! For the past few weeks we may have been tackling a few projects ahead of time to make sure we can actually get this done. Wondering which room we chose? I cannot wait to share all of the details this Thursday, so stay tuned!!!
Learning: We’re still working on taming this crazy toddler that seems to be taking over our sweet, easy-going son. We’re currently working our way through this book and, though we’re only two chapters in, we’re noticing HUGE changes! I am completely relating to and loving the theory behind it all.
Planning: Even though this one (still secret) room seems to be taking over our lives, we’ve still got some BIG things in the works for a few other rooms in the house. The house plans are in our hands now and we’re calling in favors from our family and friends who just so happen to be in the biz to help us come up with some ideas about where to go next with things. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you, it’s all incredibly exciting to think about!!!
Loving: My new milk frother! I can’t believe I get to start my day with a luxurious cappuccino every single morning! Not to mention how wonderful it is to kick back with a lovely tea latte after a hard day at work!
Dreaming about: House plans, moving walls and pretty new fixtures! Fun right?!
Wearing: My favorite bogs, which have done a great job of keeping my feet warm and dry through puddle season!
Coveting: Who wouldn’t want this Le Creuset Dutch Oven in Carribean?
Working for me right now: Planning out every little thing with this pretty planner! I’d be SO lost without it!!!
What’s not: Our Subaru Forrester, who’s check engine light came on yesterday (insert sad face here!).
Anticipating: Heading to the car show in Edmonton, AB this month to hopefully find the perfect new car/ SUV for our family!!!
I’d LOVE to hear where are you currently? What’s new and exciting?
Wishing you SUCH a lovely week!
PS. You can find me sharing here and Savvy Southern Style.

Ahh so excited you’re going to be part of the ORC! Can’t wait to see the big reveal! And I can’t believe you only recently discovered Chip and Jo! Aren’t they the best?!
Thanks Bre! I’m dying to share the details!!! And yes, how have I made it through so much of my life without them? 😉
This was a very fun post! Sorry about the car! That car stuff is not fun. Can’t wait to see your room for ORC. April! There will be less chair time for me. The garden is calling my name.
Thank you SO much Peggy! Definitely a huge bummer about our car, but hopefully we’ll find a new one that works better for our family! And yes, I’m super excited for the ORC! Can’t wait to share all of the details! Couldn’t be more jealous of your gardening time, ours is being covered again with snow as we speak … yuck!!!
Congratulations on the ORC opportunity – looking forward to seeing your room reveal Kristi! Good luck at the car show in town next weekend.
Thanks Marie! I’ll just be a linking participant, but I’m super excited to share all the details and can’t wait to see how things turn out!!!
Ooh! How exciting! I can’t wait to see your room makeover! im currently crying over finances, but it’ll resolve itself soon. Thanks for asking 😉
Thank you SO much Corinna!!! I’m so excited to share all of the details!!! I have a feeling we’ll be crying together when I get home from car shopping 😉
So fun to hear what’s going on with you! I just love that Fixer Upper show and I, too, definitely need a haircut haha. I hope this month is awesome for you!
Thank you Erica! It’s so fun to take that quick snapshot of time – might be fun to look back on!
March just somehow disappeared, didn’t it! Time passes entirely too quickly. Thanks for sharing with us at Merry Monday.
Doesn’t it?! Thanks so much Shirley!
I LOVE Fixer Upper! Also, we are going through the crazy toddler phase with my son as well. I wasn’t expecting it to happen until he was closer to two, but it has been rough. I feel your pain!
Isn’t it awesome?! The show I mean, not the crazy toddler phase – that I’m wishing you a ton of patience through! Not easy! But, I am really loving that book! Noticing some pretty big changes, so at least there’s hope!
A milk frother can make drinks so much more luxurious. Thanks for linking up to the Bloggers Brags Pinterest Party. I have pinned your post to the Bloggers Brags Pinterest Board.
Right?! It definitely kicks things up a notch! Thanks Janine!!!
Great idea for a post! I may have to try this. 🙂
It’s definitely a fun way to take a snapshot in time! Thanks Lowanda!
