My favourite reads from the week…
Friday already?! I swear the days fly by twice as fast through the Summer!
I hope you’ve had a wonderful week! Ours was pretty quiet around here as we caught up with some projects around the house & enjoyed some visits with family & friends. Last weekend we spent a day visiting with my Grandma – wandering her favourite stores, lunch out with some family and an afternoon of digging in her garden and picking every last raspberry we could find. We haven’t been able to spend much time together these last couple of years, so getting to spend a whole day with her felt extra special. Carson and I spent the day before preparing some yummy treats to bring her – we made a big batch of beet rolls to use up some of our beet leaves from the garden (this is the recipe we used) and then whipped up a rhubarb sour cream crumble pie with some of our rhubarb (you can find that recipe here). Gardening is something that Gram, Carson and I all share a love for, so it felt extra special to be able to share some of our own harvest with her. And of course, she sent us home with some of hers as well – in addition to picking all of her raspberries and green beens, we dug up a big bag of potatoes and carrots to bring home with us too.
We also tackled some lingering projects around the house this week. While I worked my way through the last of the spring cleaning, washing walls and organizing all of the drawers and closet in our bedroom, Brady finished up the trim and shingling on our gazebo roof. It was his first time finishing a roof, but it turned out SO well and will prove to be good practice for the covered back deck project that he’s planning to start next week (you can read more about that here). Oh, and I finally ordered that new light for our bedroom – any guesses about whether I went with brass or silver? I can’t wait to show you when it arrives!!!
Now, onto this week’s Weekend Reading…
Loving all of the beautiful fabrics and vintage charm throughout this character-filled lake house.
Such a great DIY version of those expensive concrete lamps you’re loving.
Totally head-over-heels for the cozy, collected feel throughout this beautiful home.
Skip the tape on your next paint project with these brilliant tips for cutting in.
Can’t wait to try these cherry oat bars.
Speaking of baking, these blueberry lemon zucchini cupcakes would be a yummy new way to use up some of our zucchinis from the garden.
Finally, here’s the book I’ve been curling up with this week.
Wishing you the most lovely weekend! Let me know if you have any fun plans in the comments below!
