Sharing My Favourite Reads From The Week Just In Time For The Weekend.
Hello friends! I hope you’ve had the most wonderful first week of December! I know this month is going to fly by even faster than most, so I’m really trying to make a conscious effort to slow down through the busyness and soak in every magical minute I can with our family.
If you saw this month’s currently update, you’ll know that this week, Carson started not one, but two advent calendars. We stuffed the usual felt tree countdown with chocolates – this one holds a special place in my heart as it’s the one I grew up with as a child.
But this year I couldn’t resist adding this Harry Potter Lego advent calendar to the mix as well. After all, it’s a perfect combination of two of Carson’s very favourite things! 6 days in and it’s already an absolute hit!
We also started reading the most adorable little advent story. We all look forward to crawling into bed together in our Christmas pj’s (C opened these up with his advent calendar and book this year), and reading a new chapter each night together. I can totally see this becoming a Christmas tradition for many years to come!
Hockey kept us extra busy this week with 4 games and a practice thrown in for good measure – and that’s just for Carson, in addition to coaching C’s team, Brady also played 2 games of his own. We also managed to squeeze in a piano lesson for C before his big recital at the senior home this weekend.
But the most exciting part of the week is sure to be heading to the city tonight to take in the Nutcracker ballet together. C has been asking to go for years now and I couldn’t be more excited to finally be taking him!
I’ll do my best to try to share all of the excitement of the weekend ahead over on Instagram, but for now, here are my favourite reads just in time for the weekend.
