A quick little update & my favourite reads from the week.

Happy Friday friends! How was your week? I ended up coming down with a pretty awful cold early in the week, which totally knocked out any motivation to be productive. I came into the week with a list a mile long of all the things I’d hoped to tackle, but by Monday evening all I could seem to find the energy for was curling up with a cup of tea and my latest read. I swear, I always forget how rotten a cold can feel until it works its way back into my life. Instead of pushing through and forcing myself to work on all the things like I usually would, I decided to put it all on hold and just let my body rest for a couple of days this week, hoping that the extra rest might help it pass more quickly. While I’m still not feeling myself just yet, I am feeling much better than I was at least, just in time for the weekend thankfully! With a birthday party for my niece on Saturday and a hockey game for Carson on Sunday, we’ve got lots of fun to look forward to this weekend (and I’m hoping we can sneak in some time to put together our new desk in there too) !

Adding vintage pieces into your decor is the surest way to bring a cozy, collected feel to any space. Here are some great tips to help you decorate with vintage finds.
Found this series about how to pick a colour palette super informative.
Speaking of choosing colours, picking the perfect white is always trickier than you’d think. This was such a great breakdown of ten popular white paint colours.
This house tour was SO dreamy.

Can’t wait to try these soft pumpkin spice ginger cookies with brown butter icing.
My girl Erin has been inspiring me to up my Halloween game (which is admittedly pretty sad) with all sorts of fun Harry Potter themed Halloween projects (this dementor is so amazing!). I just ordered up some flameless taper candles to hang from our porch ceiling with some fishing line and these clips, some plastic spiders to trail up the wall along our stairs and some flameless pillar candles to line the walkway to our door. I’ve never been one to decorate for Halloween, but Carson is really going to love this!
The Instagram account I just can’t get enough of this week.

Finally, here’s the new book I’ll be curling up with this weekend.
Wishing you the most lovely weekend! Let me know if you have any fun plans in the comments below!
