Weekend Reading #193
A quick little update & my favourite reads from the week.

Happy Friday my friends! I hope you had a wonderful week! Ours seemed to zoom by in a flash around here. It’s Carson’s first year being able to take part in after school sports and he’s taking every opportunity to join each and every one. ๐คฃ On top of that, we’re back into piano lessons, which means sneaking in some time for lessons and practice in between all of those after school sports. I’d say we’re not usually a family that likes to fill our time with all the things, we all really value our down time, but C has been so excited about the opportunity to take part in all sorts of new sports, well, it’s been hard to say no to that. While I don’t think running from sport to sport is sustainable for us, especially with Brady and I both working again now (I’m back in the classroom if you missed it!), we’re willing to roll with it for now until he figures out what he loves. Thank goodness ski season has started yet, so we still have our weekends free (for the most part) at least.
I’ve been SO busy with planning and school work, I haven’t been much help with the renovation work around the house, though I did manage to get the ceiling in our closet repainted last weekend at least. It doesn’t look like a drastic change in the photos, but I LOVE how much brighter that warm white ceiling makes the whole room feel!

Meanwhile, Brady’s been chipping away at the tiling whenever he can carve out a few hours to work on it and I’m so excited to say that the finish line is definitely in sight! He’s got the shower curb and just one last row on the shower walls left to go and then we’ll be able to move on to doors and trim, which is going to go such a long way to making these spaces feel more finished.
As much as we’d love to see that tile finished up, we’re actually taking the weekend off from renos around here, but we’re excited to jump back into things next weekend.
On the blog lately…

And now, here are my favourite reads from the week…
My favourite reads from the week…

This mudroom transformation is mind blowing.
Warm, rich interiors that capture that Fall design mood.
Such a great way to upgrade a boring roman shade.
I cannot wait to bake up a batch of this cinnamon crunch banana bread.

The rooms you should and should not renovate first in a home.
Why checkerboard tile is having a moment.
The Instagram account I just can’t get enough of this week.

Finally, here’s the book I’ve been curling up with this week.
Wishing you the most lovely weekend! Let me know if you have any fun plans in the comments below!
