SHARING MY FAVOURITE READS FROM THE WEEK

Whew! What a whirlwind of a week it’s been. I don’t know about you, but between back-to-school for our kiddo, back-to-work for me (just part time teaching thank goodness!) and basement renovating, I’m so lost, I’m not sure I even know which way is up at the moment. I’m sure looking forward to a little rest and re-group this weekend (while painting the basement probably – ha!).
Speaking of the basement, we’ve made SO much progress these last couple of weeks! I managed to get 2 coats on the ceiling last weekend so Brady could get the lights in this week. And now, while I’m sitting here typing this, Brady’s banging away downstairs installing the subfloor so that I can hopefully start on painting the walls this weekend. All the prep work with the framing, electrical and plumbing seemed to take SO long, but it feels like things are just flying along now (oh, I sure hope I didn’t just jinx things by writing that!).
It hasn’t all been renovations of course. This week Carson is officially back in the classroom, kicking off a brand new school year in a brand new school. Sure, all of the COVID restrictions have taken a bit of getting used to and the year feels quite different than it otherwise would, but we couldn’t be happier to be back at school again! Carson’s not the only one that headed back to school this week, I also started a part-time teaching position planning for some distance learning curriculum – taking on a teaching job this year wasn’t necessarily planned, but the flexible schedule was a perfect fit for our lives right now and I’m just so excited to have the opportunity to put my teaching hat back on again!
Finally, we also managed to squeeze in some new family photos with our favourite photographer as well. Carson is growing SO quickly and time just seems to slip right through my fingers – it’s really important to me to make a point to pause and capture these little moments each year. I couldn’t have been happier with how they turned out!

On the blog this week…
I shared my favourite ways to spend a cozy, rainy day.

And, speaking of cozy, our living room saw a few cozy changes through the Summer as well. I shared them all here in this little living room update.

And now, before I get back to working on all the things, here’s what I’ll be catching up with this weekend…
