The mornings are growing crisp, the leaves are just starting to turn – Fall is most definitely in the air and I for one am SO ready for it!

Of all the seasons, Fall has always been my very favourite. It’s made of all things cozy + comfortable, how could it get any better? As the days grow shorter, the air more cool + crisp, I find myself craving all of the cozy comforts of Fall – the blankets and sweaters, scarves and boots, cool walks through the leaves, wrapped in a cozy scarf with a warm coffee in hand.

It’s not just our closets that get cozier as the seasons change – as Fall rolls in, I find myself looking to scatter those warm + cozy feelings all around our home too.

Welcome to our home…

I’ve never been one for extra clutter, which means I tend to keep things pretty simple with our decor – usually embracing a “less is more” approach. Though simple, it’s amazing how much warmer a room can feel just by changing out some textiles and of course, sprinkling a few pumpkins for good measure.

One of the very first things I do with each change in season is swap out the cushions on our sofa. Some of the more neutral ones stick around through most of the year, but I definitely like to mix in a few seasonal ones as well. It always amazes me how much of a difference a few new pillows can make in a space. Through Spring + Summer I tend to add a few colourful cushions to the mix, but as the weather grows cooler, I love to change out the brighter colours for some cozier textures instead.

And of course, who can resist curling up with a cozy, warm blanket on a cold Fall day!

I also switch some of my faux plants out as well, favouring more soft or deep greenery over the brighter more vivid plants of Summer.

Tucking some of those last few flowers from the garden into a little mason jar never hurts either.

Layering in all these rich textures really helps to make things feel cozy and inviting, but really nothing says Fall like a pumpkin. I’ve collected quite a few over the years – some mercury glass, some carved wood, some with twinkle lights and some just painted. I just love eclectic, collected feel of them all! I’ve got them scattered all throughout our main floor without much rhyme or reason really.

And of course, a flickering candle always helps things feel warm + cozy (this one was such a quick + easy DIY, you can see how I made it here)!

Even our laundry room got saw a few cozy new touches for Fall.

Besides a faux olive wreath and a couple of new cushion covers, I really didn’t do much in here, but with the warm tones of leather and wood, I think our family room space feels coziest of all.
