Weekend Reading #183

A quick little update & my favourite reads from the week.

Happy Friday my friends! How was your week? Ours was super exciting around here as we had our drywallers here working on mudding and taping the walls throughout our second floor reno (see our last update here). I love that we’re at the stage of actually getting to see our progress – it’s so much more satisfying than all the work that has to happen behind the scenes before it all. It really is such an amazing feeling to finally see these rooms we’ve been working so hard on taking shape!

This weekend, Carson and I will be joining my Mom and sister-in-law for a baking class at the Duchess Atelier, which is a baking school hosted by our favourite bakery in Edmonton. It was our gift to my Mom for Mother’s Day this year and I think I’m just as excited about it as she is! I’ll try to remember to share some stories over on Instagram to share the experience while we’re there.

We’re also hoping to spend some time working on house projects this weekend too (shocking, right?!). I think Brady’s planning to start waterproofing the shower (assuming the drywall is done) and I’m hoping to finish up the last of the planting outside – just a few trees and bushes as well as all of our flower pots. We worked SO hard on our landscaping last year, it’s so nice to just be able to enjoy it coming back this spring.

And now, here are my favourite reads from the week…

My favourite reads from the week…

Love the idea of making some pressed flower art to scatter around the house.

These beautiful kids’ rooms are giving me all sorts of inspo for Carson’s new bedroom.

This strawberry rhubarb gin fizz would be a perfect cocktail to sip all summer long.

Want to raise happier, more successful kids? Give them chores to do!

Carson is taking part in a market at school next week with a friend, here‘s what they’ll be whipping up to sell.

The Instagram account I just can’t get enough of this week.

Finally, here’s the book I’ve been curling up with this week.

Wishing you the most lovely weekend! Let me know if you have any fun plans in the comments below!
