Weekend Reading #181

A quick little update & my favourite reads from the week.

Happy Friday my friends! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week! As per usual lately, ours flew right by – I’m sure part of that was due to the fact that Monday was a holiday, so we started with with a short week already around here.

I’ve been slowly easing back into all the things around here after my trip to Vancouver and the never-ending cold that came home with me. We’ve tackled a ton of odd jobs around the house these past few weeks – things like spring cleaning (inside & out), a bit of yard work and washing up & packing away all the winter gear until Fall. My favourite little change around here though, has been hanging up this old clock from my Grandma – she had this old clock hanging in her living room for as long as I can remember and every time I hear it chime, I think of her. She lives a few hours away, which means I don’t get to see her as often as I’d like, so having this little piece of her here with me makes this old clock feel extra special.

Brady’s continued to chip away at our renovations upstairs. He’s been hard at work hanging drywall these last few weeks and, with just the shower niches and the bottoms of the arches left, he is SO close to finishing it all up. We’re hoping we can get someone in to mud and tape it all in the next couple of weeks so that we can get going on tiling and trim work. Then, it’ll just be a matter of paint and flooring before we can start moving into these spaces! Can’t tell you how excited I am to see these spaces start coming together!!!

So, the plan for the weekend around here is to hopefully get the drywall finished up and these spaces all cleaned out so we’re ready for to mud & tape the drywall. Also hoping to finalize our design selections and order up all of the materials for doors, panelling, & trim for these spaces so that we’re ready to keep moving along once the drywall is done. Wish us luck!
