My favourite reads from the week…
Happy Friday friends! How have you been? Any exciting adventures to share? Things have been slow but busy all at the same time around here these last few weeks. I may have managed to put together a couple of posts this week (you can check them out below if you missed them), but it feels like it’s been ages since I’ve actually checked in with y’all. We’ve been busy behind the scenes – rounding up quotes for the new garage build, tackling a few little projects around the house (hello lovely new cafe curtains!) and enjoying every bit of Summer we can squeeze out of those minutes in between it all.
We’ve been putting a lot of time and energy into planning out our garage build the last couple of weeks. With the stamped drawings finally in hand, we’ve been able to reach out to a few local contractors and lumber yards to start collected quotes. Between the high lumber prices right now and our later than expected start, we’re feeling much less sure that this garage build will actually be happening this year. But, not to fret – if it turns out the garage is put on hold until next year, we’ve got a Plan B that we’re still pretty excited about. I’ll be sure to keep you updated when we know more, but here’s a little hint for you in the mean time.
Now, onto this week’s Weekend Reading…

And my favourite reads from the week…
This baked french toast casserole would be so perfect for Sunday brunch.
I am so totally onboard with this new trend in home decor. In fact, we’ve already started to work it into our own home (see it here). How are you feeling about the shift from all things white and neutral?
I found this poll on bathroom design decisions fascinating.
Jen Woodhouse is the Queen of DIY builds! These beautiful built-in bookcases, complete with window bench turned out SO perfectly.
I love the charm a pretty pleated lampshade brings. Definitely going to give this DIY version a try.

The Instagram account I just can’t stop scrolling this week.
Finally, my latest reads – I gave The Rose Code a full 5 stars on Goodreads (and I’m pretty stingy with those 5-star reviews!). If you love a good historical fiction (with a hint of truth to guide it), you’ll definitely want to give it a read. And while you’re at it, pick up her other books – The Huntress and The Alice Network, which are both equally amazing! And, if you’re curious, here’s the book I’ve been curling up with this week.
Wishing you the most lovely weekend! Let me know if you have any fun plans in the comments below!
