I can’t even believe it’s Friday again already! Did this week just fly right by for anyone else? I hope no matter how quickly it passed, you had a great week.
Ours was fairly uneventful around here – to be honest, I’m still not quite feeling 100% yet after having what’s felt like the longest (and most annoying) cold ever. I’ve been trying to give myself permission to slow down a again this week and give my body some time to rest and recharge, but with so much to do around here (ie. so much to paint), I’m not going to lie, it hasn’t been easy to talk myself out of feeling like I should be tackling all the things. I did just start a fantastic new book that I don’t ever want to put down, so that’s been a great distraction at least! 😉
I’m sure it’s no surprise that I just couldn’t resist getting at least one room painted this week – of course, it just so happens to be one of the biggest in our house, and by the time I’d made my way through those 10+ hours of painting, I was so exhausted I crawled straight into bed … and then spent the rest of my week recovering from it. It was worth it though to get rid of the navy blue and gray walls – it’s really helped to make this temporary bedroom space feel so much warmer.
Now, here’s hoping that I’ll kick the last of this nagging cough to the curb this weekend so that I can head into next weekend feeling more like myself again.
Do you have any exciting plans for the weekend ahead? We’ve got a few little jobs to tackle around the house tomorrow morning and then we’ll be celebrating our niece’s birthday through the afternoon. I really love that we live so close to our families so that we can share all of these special moments – both big and small. Sunday, I think the plan is to get started on reworking the the layout of our primary bedroom and bathroom. We’ve got some BIG plans for these spaces and it’s going to be a long process to shift around all of that plumbing, electrical and of course, frame and drywall the new spaces, so I’m excited to finally get that ball rolling. I’ll try to share a look at it all in my Instagram stories for you along the way.
On the blog this week…

My favourite reads from the week…

With the weather growing cooler, I’ve been craving some extra time in the kitchen. I’ve been collecting all sorts of cozy Fall recipes (planning to share some of my favourites here on the blog next week) – these apple cider cinnamon rolls just made their way to the top of my Fall baking list!
2023 paint colour trend predictions – I’m here for it all.
Loving following along with this Tudor house renovation! Pulling SO much inspiration from it all!

Is brown making a comeback? This is definitely giving me something to think about for the study.
Some great advice about what to look for when shopping for a new sofa.
Here’s the Instagram account I just can’t get enough of this week.

Finally, here’s the book I’ve been curling up with this week (SO good!).

Give me brown, green, ivory anytime over grey. They’re such natural luscious color and I just could never wrap my head around All Things Grey. It’s just a depressing color to me. Grey skies are bad enough.
I do like white though- long as it doesn’t lean a cool white.
Have a wonderful weekend.
I couldn’t agree more Michele! We never did end up jumping on the grey trend around our house either. We did paint our last house with a grey-ish beige; however, it was still very warm feeling. And I totally agree about the whites too – I will forever and always love a good, warm white. I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to get on board with the cooler tones (at least in my own home), they really do loose their coziness. Thanks so much Michele, I hope you have a wonderful weekend too!
Oh my gosh! So honored to see my Instagram in this post! You’re a gem 🙂
So happy to share Danica!
