Sunday Baking Sessions

Do you have a coziest day of the week? There’s no question that that title would definitely belong to Sundays around here. Though it’s probably our most productive day of the week, it also tends to be our most relaxing. Sunday mornings always start with a big, hearty breakfast, the kind we never seem to have time for through the rest of our busy week. The rest of our morning is usually filled with housework and chores (and maybe a project or two for Brady), while Carson plays outside with his neighbourhood friends. We usually have a late lunch (thanks to a late breakfast) and then spend our afternoon doing something fun together as a family. Whether it’s a walk through the trails just outside our front door, or gathering around table for a few board games, I always look forward to spending this time together. I tend to cook a bigger dinner on Sundays, just because I’ve got the time and then we usually curl up for a movie together before bed. Sundays around here tend to be a little slower and a whole lot cozier as we fill the day with all of our favourite things.

Our quiet Sunday mornings are probably my favourite part of the entire weekend. We always have a nice, slow start to our Sundays – while the boys sleep in, I’m usually downstairs in the kitchen sipping on coffee and baking up a yummy treat. I find so much joy in whipping up a special treat for everyone to snack on through the week ahead – and it gives me something special to pop into Carson’s lunch box for school.

I’m always collecting recipes for treats that I think our whole family will enjoy (you can see them all on my Pinterest board here), and today, I thought it would be fun to share a few that are on my list for my Sunday baking sessions. Hopefully you’ll find something to inspire you for your own Sunday baking sessions too!

  1. Well, now I’m hungry, LOL. I’m down to just hubby and myself now so I don’t do much cooking like I used to but now you have me in the mood to bake some of those tasty looking blueberry lemon muffins. I’m a sucker for anything lemon flavored. Thanks for all the wonderful looking treat recipes!
