It’s a beautiful day for a farmhouse powder room reveal, don’t you think?
Six very short weeks ago we signed on to take part in the One Room Challenge, pledging to makeover one room in our home in just, you guessed it, six weeks.
Now, this wasn’t our first rodeo my friends – we’ve actually been down this road a few times now, creating this rustic, cabin themed bedroom for our not-so-little guy the first time around; this lovely farmhouse master bedroom space; our farmhouse style main bathroom last Spring and our farmhouse family room last Fall.
So, we knew exactly what we were getting ourselves into when we signed on this time around. We knew it would mean six long weeks of nothing but chaos, to-do lists and never ending work. We knew it would be six long weeks of quick dinners, late bedtimes and absolute exhaustion.
We knew.
And still, not only did we decide to jump on board a fifth time (that’s right, five freaking times!), but we had the brilliant idea to take on another bathroom (can you hear the sarcasm coming through?).
After taking on our main bathroom space last Spring, we thought this little powder room would be a piece of cake.
Boy were we wrong!
This itsy-bitsy space may be the smallest room in our home, but oh my goodness, it was by far our most difficult room renovation yet!
Nothing major went wrong per say (thank goodness!), but it truly felt like we were working through one challenge after another, for six very long weeks.
I’ll tell ya, we definitely learned (over and over again) that, even with the best planning (or at the very least, our best effort), things don’t always come together as we’d hoped. I won’t get into all that today (I hope to share a behind the scenes look at the renovation next week).
Honestly though, it felt like we’d never be able to pull this thing off more days than it didn’t.
But really, all that matters today my friends is that all that extra work was SO worth it in the end.
We really couldn’t be happier with how things (finally!) came together!
I cannot wait to share our new powder room with y’all!
But first, let’s just take a quick look back at what we started with…
And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for…
Our new farmhouse powder room!
We kicked things off with these gorgeous marble hex tile floors from The Builder Depot.
There’s just nothing so elegant and classic as marble!
Then we moved on to adding some wood planks to the bottom half of our walls (find the tutorial here), which I painted out in my favourite white paint. I really think it brings so much character to the space.
I had planned to paint out the top half of our walls with this beautiful Lisabetta Damask Wall Stencil, but let’s just say things didn’t go as I’d hoped (more on that next week), so at the last minute, I opted to paint the walls and ceiling out with my go-to greige paint.
Of course, we added some farmhouse style trim around the window and doorway (tutorial here).
Because things weren’t already difficult enough, at the very last second, I changed my mind about the lighting over the mirror and opted to install sconces on either side instead (thank goodness I have THE MOST PATIENT husband EVER!). I’m still deciding on just what I’d like to put here, but for now, we’ve borrowed these rustic lights from our main bathroom.
The star of the show is definitely that incredible vanity and mirror combo from Build Direct!
Isn’t it just stunning?! I am head over heels in love with the classic lines and rich wood! And how lucky that the counter so perfectly matches our marble floors!
To match our main bathroom, we opted to top it with this Cassidy faucet from Delta Canada.
And of course, we added in the matching towel ring and toilet paper holder.
In our design plans for the space, I mentioned how much I wanted to replace the bathroom door with a sliding pocket door, but with time running out (more on that next week too!), we opted for a simpler barn style sliding door instead.
It still leaves our mudroom space open and, once we get this lock installed, will function perfectly too.
Finally, my very favourite part – we added in a few decor pieces to really bring this small space to life…
Including this simple artwork I created with my Lisabetta stencil (find the tutorial here!)…
Oh my goodness, I swear, nothing about this space was easy! But thank goodness, it was all worth it in the end!
Now, just in case you were left wondering about anything, here’s a complete {source list} for everything we used to create this pretty farmhouse powder room space:

Here’s one last look at just how far we’ve come in six week’s time:

– tile bathroom floor
– create stencil art
– add planked walls and paint
– replace trim
– install new vanity
– install faucet, towel and toilet tissue holders
– install new toilet
– install new lighting
– decorate!
