Weekend Reading #196
A quick little update & my favourite reads from the week.

It’s been a week my friends. Not terrible by any means, but crazy busy in some of the strangest ways. Just lots of out of the ordinary things I think, which somehow all popped up within the same week for us. Probably the most wild thing that happened was a wind storm that rolled through on Tuesday, sending a big old spruce tree straight across our driveway. The storm lasted less than an hour, but that was long enough to take out this tree. Luckily it missed the house completely and, aside from blocking off our entire garage for a night, really didn’t cause us much trouble at all. By the next afternoon, it was all cleaned up with no trace at all that anything had happened. It’s always sad to see an old tree go though – while living near big trees can come with some risks, it’ll always be worth it to us to be surrounded by such beauty.
Speaking of beauty, Brady got most of our doors installed through our renovations upstairs last weekend and I’m head over heels in love! With the doors installed, he’s ready to move onto the trim – here’s hoping we can make a good dent in the trim work through the weekend ahead. Keep an eye on our Insta stories for updates!

Looking for some cozy Fall decorating ideas, here’s a great place to start.
Baked up a batch of this pumpkin harvest loaf last weekend and it was a hit. It’s been such a perfect Fall treat! Also baked up some cheddar and chive sourdough while I was at it. It was such a lovely way to spend a cozy Sunday.

Why parents should ignore their children more often. We’ve tried so hard to live this for years now – it’s not easy, but we really believe it’s so important for us ALL to leave room for some quiet.
So ready for soup season.
Brown is back. Here’s how to do it right.
This crockpot pumpkin beer braised chicken looks SO yummy!

The book I’ve been curling up with this week.
Finally, here’s the Instagram account I just can’t get enough of this week.
