A quick little update & my favourite reads from the week.

Friday already?! Between Thanksgiving celebrations, a trip to the city, tackling a few house projects and whole lot of hockey, this week really seemed to just fly by for us! Last weekend we made the trek to meet up with family for Thanksgiving on Saturday and then hosted the rest of our family for dinner here on the Sunday (see what I cooked up here). It was SO wonderful to get to enjoy so much time and great food with our family.

Around it all, we also managed to get a few more little house projects crossed off the list – mainly getting our new exterior lights installed and getting the mantel back up on the Study fireplace (well, mostly anyway). If you caught our Insta stories last weekend, you’ll already know that Brady and I were playing around with a few different patterns for the fireplace tile – I can’t wait to show you what we came up with!
This weekend, in between traveling to hockey games for Carson, a coaching clinic for Brady and a hosting a meet & greet for his team, we’re hoping to at least get started on the tiling for the Study. I also need to get the brass around the fireplace painted out (planning to use this) and maybe even get the hardware swapped out on the wall of drawers behind the desk. It’s a lot to try to jam into one little weekend, so we’ll have to see how much we can get through. Wish us luck!

Which house would get your vote for H&H’s Home of the Year? I’d have to go with #9 myself – it’s such an elegant and timeless home not to mention it’s just down the road from us in Calgary, AB!
A 4-step formula to politely decline and invitation.
Some good tips to keep in mind to help maintain the charm and character of an older home when renovating.
The Instagram account I just can’t get enough of this week.

Finally, I just finished this book and it was SO good – I could hardly stand to put it down! Now that it’s down, here’s the book I’ll be curling up with this weekend.
Wishing you the most lovely weekend! Let me know if you have any fun plans in the comments below!
