Sharing my favourite reads from the week.
Happy Friday my friends! How was your week? We actually had a super productive one around here and I have to tell you, it felt ahhhhmazing to finally be digging into a few renovation projects around the house! Last weekend, Brady demoed our primary bedroom and bathroom. Usually I struggle with the mess that comes with a big demo like this, having to remind myself over and over that it has to get worse before it gets better, but not this time! Honestly, with each and every piece of garbage that we hauled out of that room, I felt lighter. Not only was it easier to see the potential of the spaces as we opened them up and cleared it all away, but I can’t even begin to tell you how great it felt to get that gross carpet out of there! We’ve been contemplating a pretty big pivot in our plans for these spaces, I can’t wait to share more and hear your thoughts about it all. For now, here’s a little sneak peek at our progress…

While the boys were working away in our primary suite upstairs, I finally managed to finish up stripping and staining our front door and it turned out even better than I’d imagined! I LOVE the warmth it adds to our exterior! I shared the whole process on the blog, you can catch up with it here if you missed it.

Then, this week, I pulled out the paint again and took on our kitchen and living room. It took me THREE coats of paint to cover all that green, but it was worth it! I didn’t even know how much I hated that green until I looked back on these before + after photos. Such a difference! And I even managed to get our first pictures up on the wall (it only took me 41 days). This place is finally starting to feel like home again.

My favourite reads from the week…

I was glued to this project, every step of the way and I am had-over-heels in love with how beautifully it turned out! This has to be one of the most charming little dining rooms I’ve ever seen!
LOVED this new rug collection so much, I ordered up FOUR for our house! It’ll be a great way to hide some of the floors I hate so much in our new home until we get around to replacing them.

Can’t wait to bake up a batch of these Chewy Brown Sugar Maple Cookies.
Love the idea of creating a Fall bucket list! Tons of great ideas to start with here.
Okay, these are hands down the prettiest little fire starters ever!

This was a fun read! Never would have thought of a room in terms of the 5 elements!
Here’s the Instagram account I just can’t get enough of this week.

Finally, here’s the book I’ve been curling up with this week.
Wishing you the most lovely weekend! Let me know if you have any fun plans in the comments below!
