Our 2023 Christmas Dinner Menu (& a Make-Ahead Breakfast for Christmas Morning)

With a delicious mix of recipes collected from my favourite tried + true food bloggers, this Christmas dinner and make-ahead breakfast menu is sure to be a hit!

We always enjoy our Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve, itโ€™s the way my Mom always did it growing up. A great big dinner, surrounded by good food and great company sure gives us something special to look forward to on Christmas Eve โ€“ I think itโ€™s the perfect way to stretch out the Christmas festivities just a little longer. Plus, I love that we can spend our Christmas Day enjoying all sorts of fun family time together, munching on delicious leftovers instead of cooking away in the kitchen.

For the last few years now, instead of our traditional turkey with all the fixinsโ€™, weโ€™ve decided to try something a little different (you can see last yearโ€™s menu here) โ€“ after all, we did enjoy a traditional turkey dinner not so long ago for Thanksgiving. Our unconventional dinners have been a great way to test out some new recipes and adopt some new tried & true favourites along the way. Itโ€™s been such a HUGE hit that Iโ€™m not sure weโ€™ll ever go back to turkey for Christmas again.

Last week, I scoured my favourite food blogs, collecting all of the festive and perhaps a little less traditional, recipes that caught my eye. I didnโ€™t venture far as I wanted to make sure I was finding recipes that I could trust to turn out perfectly (I mean really, who wants all that time and effort in the kitchen to go to waste?!). Then, with a little help from Brady and Carson, I whittled our list down to create a Christmas dinner menu that weโ€™re all excited to eat. Just in case you find yourself looking for a new recipe to try or some ideas to change up your Christmas dinner this year, I thought Iโ€™d share this yearโ€™s collection of Christmas dinner recipes with you. Hereโ€™s hoping you discover some new Christmas dinner inspiration too!

CHRISTMAS MORNING BRUNCH

Though I donโ€™t spend much time in the kitchen on Christmas Day, I do love to serve a special breakfast/ brunch. I find it a perfect way to wind down and settle into our day together after all of the excitement of opening gifts. I love that this baked eggnog french toast can be prepped ahead of time, making it easy to just pop into the oven on Christmas morning so we can enjoy a low key Christmas together. And of course, what would the holidays be without an extra special coffee to go with it?! This vanilla gingerbread latte is sure to hit the spot on Christmas morning.

I hope this collection of recipes leaves you feeling inspired to try something new as you plan your own Christmas dinner this year!

From our house to yours, wishing you the Merriest Christmas and all the best through the year ahead my friends!
