SHARING A QUICK UPDATE ON ALL THINGS CURRENTLY…

Happy June my friends! JUNE! Can you even believe it?! It feels like just yesterday that we were shovelling snow and dreaming of warm Summer days and now, here we are! I don’t know about you, but we’ve been spending every minute we can enjoying the great outdoors and all that wonderful sunshine. It may only be the beginning of June, but we’re already making the most of our short Alberta Summers. Between mountain biking, running, paddle boarding, golfing and gardening, there’s been no shortage of Summer fun around here. We know all too well how quickly our Summers fly by, which is all the more reason to squeeze in every bit of Summer fun that we can!
Of course, all that Summer fun has made for some slow progress on our to-do list. I’m hoping that once we’ve got our garage plans in hand, things will start moving on the new garage build quickly – we’re still not sure just how much of it we’d like to hire out, so “quickly” is most definitely wishful thinking, but a girl can dream.
Speaking of scheming & dreaming, I’ve set a goal for myself to tackle a 38km run on the 1st of July. Considering the furthest I’ve ever run to date is 21.1km (and that was HARD), this is definitely a lofty goal, but hey – I love a good challenge! Plus, I’ve got two friends as crazy as I am that are going to run it with me – we’re actually all celebrating birthdays this month, so it’s sort of our way of celebrating. 38 might seem like a random number, but it’s actually the age of the oldest out of the 3 of us (not me for the record), and we thought it would be a fun way to honour her 38th birthday – it also seemed much kinder than letting her run that last km on her own while the two 37 year olds started celebrating early. 😉 So, 38 it is! Wish us luck!
With so much going on for us this month, I’m not sure we’ll get through too many projects around the house, but I’m really hoping we will at least be ready to start work on that garage through June!
In the mean time, here’s a quick little update of where we are currently…
CURRENTLY
Reading: This book was SO fun and was probably my favourite read through the past month. Here’s what’s on my nightstand now.
Writing: I’ve set a goal for myself to pick back up with my 5 Minute Journal this month. I love that it prompts me to set goals for my day each morning and then revisit them at bedtime for some reflection.
Watching: I so enjoyed reminiscing through The Friends Reunion. Did you watch it?
Needing: I think I’ve finally settled on a new light for our bedroom! Now, I just need to get it ordered.
Creating: I just spent the afternoon photographing our main floor for our Summer home tour. Keep an eye out for it this week!

Planning: The new garage plans are almost done, which means we can finally start collecting some quotes from local contractors. Here’s hoping we can find someone wonderful who can get started with the concrete pour soon!
Loving: These brilliant little cups! They are so handy to tote around and they keep our drinks ice-cold (or my coffee hot) all day long.
Wearing: These babies have become my new go-to shorts! The super high rise and loose fit around the legs make them so comfy, like my favourite pair of jeans for the Summer!
On my wish list: I’ve been shopping for a new dining table for ages now and this one is quickly moving to the top of my wish list. I think it would look amazing with some white upholstered chairs at either end.
Working for me right now: This amazing Summer weather we’ve been having! Running, biking, paddle boarding, gardening, reading on on the porch – we’re soaking up every sunny minute we can!
What’s not: Trying to get any work done with this amazing Summer weather calling me outside.
Anticipating: Getting started on our garage build! I know Brady’s super excited to bring all of his dreaming and scheming to life, but I think I’m most excited to get started on some landscaping once we’ve got that concrete pad poured.
I’d LOVE to hear where are you currently! Let me know what’s new and exciting in the comments below.
Wishing you SUCH a lovely day my friends!
